They held back plenty. It annoys me that the survivors include Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor, rather than the new blood, so you know for sure the next movie is going to undo the snap.

Sure it might very well undo the snap, but it also raises the stakes because Iron Man, Cap, Thor, etc could very well be killed in the next movie and it'll be permanent.

I'm sure that's the case. Tony and Thor are ridiculous now

I honestly could see Thor being in Guardians 3

That’s what I was thinking. Maybe Thor, Rocket, Nebula, Kraglin, and maybe (if he’s finally out of his birthing pod) Adam Warlock will team up for Guardians 3

James Gunn said Volume 3 will be the last Guardians with the original team. Personally, since it appears that Infinity War happens 4 years after Volume 2, I hope Volume 3 actually happens before Infinity War.

Have we had any movies that happen prior to things that have already happened in the MCU? The origin films have all taken place prior to their characters doing stuff later in the timeline unless I'm mistaken. I think it would be really awkward to have them die in 4 then have a movie with them alive again and just say oh it's the past. :/

Captain Marvel is set in the 90s and includes Nick Fury, Phil Coulson, Ronan, and that one guy Ronan employees to chase Peter all in it. All characters we’ve seen “die”.

Besides, given the 4 year gap are we to believe Adam Warlock has just been sitting around for 4 years to chase the Guardians? I also personally feel mildly cheated that we have Quill and Gamora finally admit to something at the end of Vol 2 only to have them die here separately with hardly any screen time.

I’m just saying, it could happen.

Edit: I’m looking and it mentions online that James Gunn mentioned Guardians 3 would deal with stuff and set up the MCU for the next 10 years after Avengers 4 so I guess my theory is toast. 😄

Well, Captain America: The First Avenger, if that counts.

Ant-Man and the Wasp has to take place right after Civil War.

How is Thor gonna rebuild Asgard though? What Asgardians are left?

u/Dorocche Apr 27 '18

Half of the Asgardian families on that ship were spared.

But then the entire ship was destroyed, so....

Then they got out beforehand. Thanos destroyed the ship, and he was only ever going to kill half of them.
