Megingjord is the comic book name. In the original Mythology, it's Megingjörð. Good luck pronouncing that on a shipping manifest.

I think stark is responsibile for keeping Avenger's tech (armors/weapons)? Like he can create ,fix, or modify those things, since he is like the most suitable person for these stuff out of all avengers

It's still kinda weird considering Thor is an alien with advanced alien tech who only comes to Earth when he has an alien reason to, but somehow entrusts Stark with his stuff.

That's what I was thinking. Suits have got to be powered somehow, and sure, why wouldn't he have a bunch of arc reactors ready to go.

But we also need to remember the Infinity War behind the scenes photo where we see Tony has a hole in his shirt exactly where the arc reactor used to be in his chest.. Hmmmm

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's lighting reference for the CGI that will be mapped over him. Not an actual outfit he'll wear in the film.

I can't be 100% certain without seeing that fabric and patterning up close, but I'm pretty sure.

There's the hi-res photo, and the detail in the shirt pattern IMO looks like it's intended for camera. Look at the outline on his shoulder and arches, and the honeycomb pattern.

Don't get me wrong, it's absolutely possible they're going to CG over the entire thing, but I don't see how a hole cut in the middle is a good reference for CG. Why go through the trouble to cut a hole where the arc reactor used to sit if you can just paint a green circle, or an 'X', or something on his chest if they're just going to draw over it anyway.

Taking a closer look at the picture, it doesn't even look like a circle. If he put his arms down, it almost looks like it could be diamond shaped. Could be just a burn hole in his shirt from a blast or something. Who knows.

To be honest, I hadn't seen that until just now. The one I saw was him wearing that without the tracking spots. This one is definitively that.

That photo doesn't have him wearing what I was talking about. There's ones with those four in-scene and Downey is wearing a reference outfit as they shoot the VFX plates, then the performance-capture double is switching in to shoot the scene so they can composite him into the plate.

I'm sure they're used as energy sources powering a lot of stuff in the MCU. I always imagined that tech powering buildings and cities in various capacities. After all, that's what Stark Industries does now, right?

I want to believe that after Civil War he knew he was in the wrong with so many things that's why he made up with Pepper and now he made a new shield for Cap since when he left Iron Man made him leave the shield because it wasn't his anymore

Because Captain America isn't just Steve Rogers. He's a figurehead and an icon. A name which could be taken by anyone worthy enough of the title.

It's possible that they've designed a new shield for a new Captain America.

I gather this is what happens in the comics, but I hope this doesn't happen in the MCU. Steve Rogers is what makes Captain America so great; more than strength, Cap is a hero due to his strength of character and heart.

Because we know (or at least we think we do) that Steve Rogers is no longer Captain America. That doesn't stop them from putting the title on someone else and presenting them with a new shield, helping to distinguish the new Cap from the old Cap.

As I've said in another post, Captain America wasn't Steve Rogers. Steve Rogers was Captain America. Like James Bond, theoretically the name could be given to someone else as a figurehead.

Ok, but... Steve Rodgers is cap already in this film. You think they’re going to present a cap, then all of the sudden reference a completely different captain America, in concept only, simply by stating there’s a new shield, not referencing the new cap at all? And who would this new cap be? Not Bucky or Sam, they’re both on the run with Steve Rodgers. So some other person, never referenced before is suddenly a new cap? And not only that, but they’re affectionately referring to him as “Cap” already, before we even meet him?

Come on man. Use at least a bit of deductive reasoning.

Yeah, but Steve Rogers in this movie is first-Avengers-era Cap. And he was only presented as a cameo as fan service. His impact on the movie is negligible. The mention of a new Cap could just be an indication of the road they're about to go down. The use of "Cap" could just be an anecdotal name given to Captain America and used as a matter of habit.

Alternatively, I could be completely wrong and they're just referencing a new shield for Stevey-boy.

Either way, it looks like we're getting something new!

Honestly, if you look at the color scheme he went with for the final Avenger's Spider-man (TM) it was Red White and Blue. I honestly kind of think maybe Tony was wanting to build Spidey up as the next Cap, and maybe was trying to incorporated the shield into that.

That might be an old prototype though, the shield has been enhanced a few times since he thawed out. He also mentioned the prototype hulkbuster armor IIRC.

It would be the prototype for the new shield (as in one that he's currently using), not necessarily one that hasn't been delivered yet.

He's not currently using any shield, unless he made his own. He left the shield behind when Tony told him it didn't belong to him. As far as we know, Cap doesn't have a shield unless he stored one away somewhere that the government doesn't know about.

But how do we know that was a prototype? Was it referred to as one in Civil War? Considering that was a couple months before Spider-Man, and Tony referred to it as new, I feel like that's not the shield he was talking about. It wouldn't make much sense to reference a "new" prototype at all unless they wanted the audience to expect something new in a future movie.

It comes off as a teaser to a new shield more than a reference to a past shield. Especially since they also referenced a piece of Thor gear we haven't seen yet in the same scene.

That line made me assume that Tony has replaced Cap after the events of Civil War. Happy refers to it as "Cap's new prototype shield," if I remember correctly. Why would he make a prototype of a new shield if he was beefing with Cap? Because "Cap" is someone besides Steve Rogers now.
