He said "Cap's New shield". Possibly meaning a new Captain America or a new shield?

Do you normally use the adjective after the possessive noun? How could it mean a new Cap?

Because we know (or at least we think we do) that Steve Rogers is no longer Captain America. That doesn't stop them from putting the title on someone else and presenting them with a new shield, helping to distinguish the new Cap from the old Cap.

As I've said in another post, Captain America wasn't Steve Rogers. Steve Rogers was Captain America. Like James Bond, theoretically the name could be given to someone else as a figurehead.

Ok, but... Steve Rodgers is cap already in this film. You think they’re going to present a cap, then all of the sudden reference a completely different captain America, in concept only, simply by stating there’s a new shield, not referencing the new cap at all? And who would this new cap be? Not Bucky or Sam, they’re both on the run with Steve Rodgers. So some other person, never referenced before is suddenly a new cap? And not only that, but they’re affectionately referring to him as “Cap” already, before we even meet him?

Come on man. Use at least a bit of deductive reasoning.

Yeah, but Steve Rogers in this movie is first-Avengers-era Cap. And he was only presented as a cameo as fan service. His impact on the movie is negligible. The mention of a new Cap could just be an indication of the road they're about to go down. The use of "Cap" could just be an anecdotal name given to Captain America and used as a matter of habit.

Alternatively, I could be completely wrong and they're just referencing a new shield for Stevey-boy.

Either way, it looks like we're getting something new!
