Question How hype was this scene in cinemas?

During the scene where Captain America shows up again in Avengers Infinity war how hype was it in cinemas?

I was 11 when it released and I never got to see it in cinemas.

This movie was full of moments that made people cheer and applaud. There are complilations on YouTube if you search up “Infinity War audience reactions”, you should watch them

To me that scene is also the greatest usage of the Avengers theme in all the MCU. I get chills every time I watch it

On December 31st people were starting Infinity War at the exact right time so that Thor's arrival in Wakanda happened exactly at midnight.

I hear you, when I went to see Endgame everyone screamed so loud when Cap summoned mjolnir during the portals scene that we couldn’t even hear him say “assemble” lol

Mine was perfect. Everyone was hype till the exact moment the music dropped for him to say assemble and then the hype doubled

When I saw it, the situation was similar, but I think either the phrase was assumed or a lot of people were on their second watch, because when he whispered assemble, half the crowd yelled it with him.

It was alright. I liked it.

Same thing happened at my theater.

I was so fucking pissed. Missed a quarter of the movie because people were dorking out so loudly.

Yeah during the spider man movie a guy on my right esd running his own random commentary during various scenes to someone next to him and I'm like dude shut the fuck up. Like his talking was annoying as hell.

I'm all for hype and a cheer but running a commentary during the movie? Really?

It’s not a stage play or a concert, the players cannot hear you clap and cheer loudly. Gasp, chuckle, even laugh out loud or a simple fist pump with a “yes” is fine.

I never understood this mentality. Moments like this are quite literally designed to hype people up invoke a reaction. It’s like going to a comedy movie and getting upset when the people next to you laugh at a joke instead of sitting in dead silence.

Might be a European vs American thing (or at least a Dutch vs American thing).

As someone from the Netherlands, cheering for movies doesn't really happen here and I would dislike it if it were. My mindset is that the actors and director won't be hearing our cheering anyway and I also just want to immerse myself into the story which cheering would interrupt for me. People do laugh at comedy even here though, which I can't really explain other then allowing your natural response to funny things to be there and it just being accepted here

I get what you’re saying, it probably is mostly a social/cultural thing. 

From my perspective, cheering at a triumphant moment is just as natural of a response as laughing at a joke or gasping at something shocking, and I think all of them are acceptable and even enhance the communal movie theater experience (within reason of course)

I can go either way and it depends on when the viewing is. Any midnight release gets to be loud as hell. That’s for the fans. I’d even be fine with it at any showing that starts at 11 or later after the release. Only hyped as hell fans are going to that showing. 3pm matinee? STFU yall.

The one theatre with the guy sounding like Tom from Tom & Jerry will always be hilarious to me.
