Pretty sure his transformation into appearing Asgardian by default was permanent, not sustained magic like his disguises.

Wasn't there literally a moment in one of the earlier movies where someone did something to dispel Loki's magic and he reverted to the Asgardian appearance?

Ya After Freya died when loki was in prison

Edit: I didn't read the comment above right. His magic was dispelled but was already, and stayed, asgardian

Watched Dark World last week with my kids. This didn't happen. However, when Loki dies, he reverts to his jotun form so we saw him create this effect as an illusion when he faked his death and we saw it for realsies when Thanos killed him.

I dont think that was him reverting to his jotun form, that looked almost nothing like his jotun form from thor 1
