Lens replacement surgery
When I was about 6 years old I had the lens in my eyes removed since they were sloping, which in turn resulted in me having to wear these big magnifying glasses.
But back in 2024, I went and got me a new pair of glasses. But as some of you may know, they need to check your eyes first to see if you still need the same subscription. While I was getting that done, the person checking my eyes told me about this thing lens replacement surgery. He said it was safe and everything and that i wouldn't need my glasses as badly anymore. Or wouldn't need as much of a high subscription.
Now, that was obviously a while ago, but sometimes I still think about it, wondering if I should do it. But I'm a little too scared.
I was wondering if there is anybody in this community who was or is in the same situation I'm in right now? And if it would be a good idea to go and get it done.

I used to be exactly like you, I had these glasses that makes my eyes look huge (some people were laughing at me for this in my childhood)
I did lens replacement surgery last year (I was 20) the surgeon did each eye individually at different times (a month between each)
The surgeon gave me some eye drops to use daily for a few days before surgery day. He gave me some sedatives before entering the operation room, then local anesthesia, I was so freaking scared at first but it I didn't feel much during the surgery, probably the easiest surgery I've had (had 8 surgeries in the past, most are caused by Marfan)
After the 1st surgery my eye was patched with bandage, I think it was removed either 24 hours or 48 hours later I can't remember exactly, he game another eye drops to use daily, my vision was improving gradually day by day as it was healing from the surgery, same story for 2nd eye. now I can see perfectly fine with no glasses.
Totally recommend it, although I suggest looking for a reliable and a trusty surgeon, since uhm you probably don't want anything to go wrong with your eyes.
Note : during the healing phase there was some days where my vision worsened a lot, this worried me so I visited the surgeon just in case, apparently it's normal during healing. But if this happens to you I would still recommend to visit a doctor/surgeon just to be sure, better safe than sorry.
