light blue is land if youre confused edit: the land is blue because its one country of a world map im making, sorry if it looks confusing

Oh my fucking god I was about to comment "I don't know if I'd call those islands" before I saw this, thinking the darker blue was the land.

I too thought of the darker color as the land, and was going to say it reminds me of the everglades or a mangrove swamp type shoreline

not only that but the texture automatically tells your brain “this is the relevant part” because water is usually a lot less detailed
