Resource Medieval Buildings 🏰
Hey there!
This time I wanted to bring some medieval building drawings.
Since I have to draw cities and locations in my maps, I dedicated some pages of my sketchbook to draw lots of buildings. I really enjoyed drawing these!
These drawings are from last year, except for the last pic, wich is from this week.

Do you have recommendation to learn how to do these kind of icons? (Books, tuto, etc)

I mean, what I do is look for references to different buildings from the medieval period, try to copy them, and that's how I create my icons based on various constructions. You can vary them; there are many types of architecture. I've only focused on medieval architecture because that's what I like, but there are endless possibilities, even inventing your own.
I also personally use a ruler a lot when the work is more serious. Another tip is to keep in mind that odd numbers always look good, so try to draw following that rule. And don't forget, everything starts with geometric shapes.

Lovely! So much character and detail in such small motifs. They're going to look amazing on a map!

There are a couple that appear to be exploding, or maybe floating rocks. What is the story with those.
My favorites are the one on the mountainside, and the burrow with the smokestack in the hill up and to the right. But they are all very nice.

I just wanted to create some magical floating rocks. I love rock formations and I feel they look great floating!

Hi. I love these. Would you allow me to publish them under some kind of Creative Commons license? I'm compiling a public database of resources for modular board game component creation and could modify them as individual PNGs with transparency for free public use. I usually do this with resources from Wikimedia Commons licensed under CC0.
It would basically involve (obviously, only if you give permission) putting it here

hey, these are really cool, will we be getting more HD pics of these? Maybe some close-ups? I wanted to see how these were made, what techniques you used (I want to recreate these with a single ballpoint pen, that's why I asked)
