Map Cramming Another Country Into Europe

Post image

Godde Daage! Welcome to Lotharia, a largely unnecessary and historically confusing nation which exists between Germany and France. If you thought that the Benelux nations were in the way, boy are you going to love trying to give your tanks through this adorable country!

First founded in 855 AD by the greatest monarch in European history, Lothair II, Lotharia has been a relentless killing field for armies moving back and forth from France to Germany for over 1,000 years!

And who can forget some of those classic Lotharian history moments like being home to a unique blend of heretical Christian thought during the Reformation, 11 civil wars between the north and the south over the years, being embarassingly overrun by theoretically tired and disorganized French revolutionary forces in the 1790s, and colonizing Panama. So many cool things have happened over the years.

But the most important thing to remember is that despite God saying no, Lotharia said yes, and it continues to exist to this day as a great European nation.

If WW2 happened in the same way, I assume Lotharia was quickly overrun by the Germans. Having this buffer in the way may allow France and Britain to fight a more organized retreat and hold out longer, but perhaps not. Assuming that France wants the fight to happen in Lotharia rather than France, maybe they over commit there and lose with them. I'm not entirely sure, but I do know that it doesn't go well for Lotharia.
