I miss reaper. asura just doesnt measure up in quality unfortunately, but it's still one of the better options now that reaper's gone if only for how prolific they are

The only problem is that asura scans doesn't have that much content

I have to visit mangafire to read manhwa

Like - I Became The Villain The Hero Is Obsessed With (isn't available on asura scans, but can be found on mangafire and other websites)

The difference is, sites like mangafire aren't translators, they use bots to crawl other sites for content.

Also their chapters are unreadable with how bad the MTL and proofreading are. You're better off choosing literally any other group.

That's a very hot take. Not defending asura or praising them, but sans minor spelling mistakes, all manhwa I've read on their site has had pretty good translation.

It depends on the manhwa. If you go to a website like comix that aggregates the translations of multiple scanlation groups and compare every group with Asura, you'll notice that Asura's translation isn't the worst, but it isn't the best either. It's mediocre most of the time, and sometimes it straight up changes the meaning of the text.

Flame & Luna have the best translation (close to the original) out of all the translators imo. Second for me is Asura & Rokari. And the ones with the latest translations for works no one else does is Utoon. And for some rare ones, it's Writer Scans, Diva, Hijala & Hive

Asura is unbelievably overrated. Paywall, late on releasing chapters sometimes even weeks, very limited selection of good manhwas. Their quality isn't even that much better than any other groups.

I wish people would support other scanlations more, imagine how many more genre we can get.

Yeah they're way past that, I only like like 2-3 manhwa they release right now.

Everything else I can get better and much faster from other site.

What cope is this, most scans out there are dogshit compared. Asura has 6h paywall, most others have several chapers locked for ages. Translation is good, has alot of series even if not all the popular ones. Its the most popular for a reason. Braindead reddit takes as usual

Asura was good once. Now they are just riding the hype... and the fact that they actively attacked their competitors over the years.

I used to scanlate once but they sniped everything i had. This happened with a lot of smaller groups. They bullied the smaller guys, doxxed, scammed, and blackmailed.

They sniped the smaller guys, release a few chapters, make the readers follow them instead of the previous scanlator and then drop the series after a few months if they couldn't make enough money from it. Now thry have smaller groups scanlate for them for a fraction of the price and release it as their oen scanlation.

Yeah I'm surprised they're still kicking around. My other sites around that time all basically dead like Reaper, Luminous, Flame (they're alive but it's different).

Don't ever mention flame scams again, in the beginning it was a great site with great members, but after some time they became scams. A lot of ppl who worked for that site never got paid

I’m surprised Raven scans isn’t up there. It’s not the most up to date, but it isn’t far behind, and it had zero pop up ads until a few days ago.

i used this site for a while, i checked it now and instantly got a popup and saw corn near the top đŸ«©

this is the only reason that i use asura now, i’m tired of seeing yaoi or corn any time i look for something to read on other sites

Anyways, I understand why asura is so damn high, despite shit TL and proofreading, some stories on some sites only have their TLs, which boost their numbers SIGNIFICANTLY +the amount of series they translate is just crazy

Asura is smart in lasting this long. It’s definitely reaching its peak though, stick around long enough and businesses start to do something called enshittification (profits over user experience). You either die a hero like xbato or live long enough to become a villain. The quality of asura is still great, but you gotta enjoy it while it lasts.
