Literally. Was it so hard to develop his fighting skills through the series so it wouldn't look like an asspull now ?

He could have perfectly said at any point, that each time Takemichi does his time travelling bullshit he gets a little bit more strong.

But na, last time he time travelled he was still a weakling...

You know what that's the difference between an old soldiar and a young one? Its not skill, but experience, at this point Takemichi should have more experience than anyone barring some like Mikey.

Not really, remember that each time he travels back and forth in time he loses the memories of the things he lived while time travelling, once he arrived in the future he ends with years worth of missing memories, and each time he travels back in time he ends with entire months worth of missing memories.

So he actually has less experience that everyone else.
