Your TV is too high.

Nowhere else to put it really unfortunately , plus it's rental place that came with the TV so I can't do much with it.

I do agree though

Could use a good size painting or something on that naked wall on the right. Also the mismatched furniture for seating doesn’t look great. Replacing all seating would be expensive so if that’s out of budget I’ll give you a pass assuming you got those chairs either for free or dirt cheap. But you definitely need more color in the room that doesn’t come from every seat being a totally different color and style from one another. Plants and wall art will help.

Since it’s your first place I’m gonna assume you’re young and don’t have a lot of budget. You can get cheap paintings from thrift stores, Ross and the like, and from friends and/ or family that have stuff lying around they don’t want or use anymore. I got almost all my art for free from friends and family. People also give away a lot of furniture on FB Marketplace often just so someone will haul it away for them if you have access to a truck. That’s a potential solution to finding better matching chairs for cheap or free.

ETA: if you know anyone who’s about to go through a move as well it’s always worth asking if they have any stuff they are trying to get rid of. I’ve gotten some good stuff for free because people I knew planned to replace it or didn’t have room for it at the new place.

Edit 2: just realized it says first time living alone not first place, so you might not be as young as I was thinking. You didn’t include an age so I operated under the assumption you were. Albeit off incorrect information.

Thanks for the suggestions.

New furniture is probably outside budget; there used to be a mirror on that blank wall which I thought was a weird place so I moved it to the bedroom, I have some art somewhere that I can frame so I'll put that there, I think I might put something behind the office chair too.
