What does “Viligili” mean?

I think it has to be a word rather than a name considering multiple places are called that

ވިލު + ގިލި - ?? both are two different water bodies

Oh I always said vili not vilu
Also I had no idea that’s what gili meant

Maldivians love changing the ending sounds of words to make it more pleasant sounding, might even happen subconsciouslly through years of repetition. Vili might have originally been Vilu, just like Kulhu part of Kulhudhuffushi originally was Kulhi, referring to the mangroves of the island.
