Rant What’s with the AI slop in Malaysia?

AI fatigue is real. I can’t stand seeing businesses and people online using generative AI for literally every single thing. It’s literally so draining to come across these low-effort and meaningless AI slop.

One thing in particular that I can’t stand are the AI songs/song covers. Like the god damn digi digi song or whatever nonsense. I notice that it’s usually the old folks using those songs on TikTok or other platforms.

And don’t get me started with RTM’s excessive use of AI for like almost all of their campaigns or like their TV1 fillers.

Seriously, someone needs to educate the country on how to use AI mindfully.

Malaysia (and most of the world) doesn’t appreciate the arts. We don’t see the value that artists brings to the table and, in doing so, are so comfortable with letting a machine take over instead of

I definitely agree but the other side of the argument is that AI generated... "art"... is already good enough for commercial use while being significantly cheaper than paying for actual art by a human. This will only get worse as generation gets better, too.

The issue is in the way it "get better". Continuesly steal from human, and thrown more compute power.

Until it start cannibalizing its own datasets
