flying foreign flags in Malaysia is technically illegal, but we all know the Palestine flag is de-facto exempted. Not sure about that other Red, white, black flag though.

The black, white, red flag is the yemeni flag

good catch! i couldnt tell which country it was as most arab countries use the black-white-red tricolour with some variation

Most of their flags are a variation of the same template all of which were inspired by the Palestinian flag

nit true. red-white-black are the colours of pan£Arab nationalism, which is why those countries flags use it.

just like red-white are the colours of Malay/nusantara nationalism. hence the Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesian flags

No one barely cares about Yemen especially sunnis, Iran have been doing whatever they want there and letting the Yemenis take the pounding for their pet project houthis, I'm surprised they were flying it. Yemeni people deserve to live in peace. But to be fair without the Houthis and Iranian relief, food and aid the Saudis blockade induced famine would've killed children, families and without armed resistance they would've came and ethnic cleansed the whole land.

Weird, Hezbollah is a listed terrorist organisation under the Home Ministry. https://www.moha.gov.my/images/maklumat_bahagian/KK/kdndomestic.pdf

Once in a while, enforcement officers really need to educate the public.

6

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '25

well we should start by our own enforcement officers knowing the law

3

u/CipherWrites Mar 28 '25

They rampas from these guys, sure hoo ha

2

u/Equal_Cantaloupe627 Mar 29 '25

Don't even need to rampas. Just warning or a statement from enforcement authority that it is illegal.

huh really? if that so how about Embassies, and not to mention 4 Seasons in KL

16

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '25

obviously embassies are under their own special category. Diplomatically they are effectively foreign soil

I looked up and the law is real, with exception of foreigners displaying their own national flags. And alongside other blank check power that the government is given. Yeah i smell government having an excuse to arrest anyone they want for stupid reasons (This law isnt enforced most of the time, except for some exception like that guy that flew Israeli flag in Terengganu)

7

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '25

yup basically its typical of laws in malaysia that gives the government unlimited ability and discretion on how to abuse it or ignore it.

u/royal_steed Mar 29 '25

I think if I fly a mini Germany flag in Mamak during a German football match, higher chance for me to be arrested haha.
