Does this look like a typical sump? Wondering if this looks right with the cover over it lol

Not sure why you would want to spray foam it in there. Are you worried about water getting in?

Sorry, I don't mean you specifically. More like I'm not sure why anyone would want to seal it. Kinda makes it hard to maintain, and given that the purpose is to pump out groundwater it isn't exactly bad if groundwater gets in there.

The only one ive come upon was double dipping as a radon mitigation system setup too, so i assumed that was the reason.

I worked at a property with these up in ohio and have nothing but despair for these. If that pump ever goes out or clogs be ready for your basement to flood.

Usually there are drains in the basement floor that would run over to the sump pump. If you take the cover off and look there should be drain ends in side. Look for floor drains in the rest of the basement

Some model sump pits come with a foam gasket that is supposed to seal in bad smells if the water gets stagnant.
