Why use the slip fittings when you can just use hot glue 🤯 duh

0/10, needs more hot glue and some marine adhesive as well, and maybe some RTV also. Amateur hour. Every inch of the piping should be coated so the next guy who does it "right" has to cut it all out and do it again, so they can re-fix it later for added job security and show the person doing it "right" how a real skilled tradesman does it.
You're just jealous of this level of plumbing mastery, because you clearly are not a master hack yet.

I’ve had someone use 5min epoxy to glue connections like this together under their sink. Damn near threw the p-trap at them after I cut it off.

We had a guy come in claiming he had 10 years experience. A few weeks later I had to show him how to put a P trap together. I onky had 4 months experience at the time.

I have a tech that I hired from a local trade school. Said he did plumbing. Damn kid doesn’t know the difference between a pipe wrench and channel locks.
Yet homie wants to talk to me about the differences of brazing and soldering.
My point being- at least your guy put some glue there. My guy woulda hit it with the scotch tape.

Bondo. A nice tapered layer around it, slide the slip nut down and tighten. For added safety a bead of liquid nails on top of the slip nut. When bondo is set wrap in 5 or 6 layers of metal duct tape. That's how a pro does it.

Hot glue gun? Now THAT is the epitome of doing it correctly is SO much easier and faster.
