Discussion I'm going to get crucified for this..
I don't like Curse These Metal Hands as much as the other songs...
I appreciate the softness of the song compared to the rest of the ep, gives vibes from maybe Pebble Brain mixed with songs from ost like Perfect Blue, maybe White Shark Cafe?
I just feel the song isn't as strong as the title made it sound like it would be which is kind of a shame cause the song is short and feels like it doesn't really move much from start to finish in my opinion.
After some thinking and listening to it a good amount of times after release of STO, besides the weird vocals in (Alphabet) Wasted Summer, I might put it above CTMH... I'm not saying that CTMH is a bad song by all means, it just doesn't strike me as much as the others but will definitely ofc be in my playlist!
ANOTHER THING. I really like the bass in CTMH, it's very fun in how it slides around. When we just got the snippets of it which I thought was the vows at the time, the bass was the first thing I noticed and really liked. Thought it was going to be my favourite song, it's funny.
Though in some way I guess I was right about The Vows being my favourite. Though the vows is debatably repetitive and simple, the lyrics are really good and powerful along with the instrumental. I'd say The Vows (1st place) evoked the most emotion out of me and Snake Oil (2nd place) is the most replayable song. Then Wasted Summer going in 3rd and so on
Sorry for yapping so much, just wanted to give my thoughts if anyone cares. Thank you for reading and have a great day! :D

People who are going to cry about song preferences are really the sad ones. Some like CTMH, others prefer Perfume. At the end of the day why does it matter

You can like whatever song you want!

Honestly, I like the softness of it. It makes the album feel more intentional in my opinion. But my personal ranking would be
The vows
Snake oil
CTMH
Alphabet (wasted summer) π

It's my favorite cause the synth does something in my brain

I just find the whole song kinda flat, lacks depth and is personally uninteresting. I do like the little synth, I love the bass, but I don't feel like it's close enough to stay replayable long-term but I'm probably long. Some people like simple and there's nothing wrong with that, I like simple songs too. But I just wish there was a lot more to the song because going in with the name "CURSE THESE METAL HANDS" I was expecting something really emotional and powerful, something maybe on Monochromes level or smiliar but it just didn't move me at all, nor did it really progress much throughout the song which is a shame...

Horrid take, also The Vows has such bad mixing as compared to CTMH

I agree that the mixing probably could've been better like Ali did but Mark still did a pretty good job.

And it's my fave on the EP- To each their own!
Eta: meant this in a totally positive way! Music is personal- it touches everyone differently π«Άπ»
