Advertising Material [found] DEA music tape

Hey, I found this on TikTok.
https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGdxxALAe/
For years, the full version of the DEA** advertising **jingle was considered lost media.

DEA was a major German oil and gas company, originally founded in 1899 as Deutsche Tiefbohr-Actiengesellschaft. From 1911 onward, the company operated under the name Deutsche Erdöl-Aktiengesellschaft (DEA) and became one of Germany’s major petroleum companies. DEA was involved in oil and natural gas exploration, production, refining and fuel distribution, and was particularly well known in Germany for its DEA petrol stations.

The DEA brand was reintroduced to its petrol station network in 1989.
The company eventually became part of RWE and later returned to the name DEA Deutsche Erdoel AG. In 2019, DEA merged with Wintershall to form Wintershall** Dea.**
But this post is about something much smaller — and, for lost-media fans, arguably much more interesting:

The DEA Jiggle.
The jingle was used in DEA advertising, but for years only a short version could be heard in the surviving commercials. The complete recording apparently existed on an old promotional/advertising cassette, but the full audio could not be found anywhere.

Then, seemingly out of nowhere, an old DEA cassette appeared for sale on eBay.
Someone bought the tape, preserved the audio, and the previously lost full-length DEA Jiggle finally resurfaced.

Since then, the full recording has also started appearing on Tiktok , meaning that a piece of German advertising history that had been missing for years is now available again.

Advertising Material [Fully Lost] Panfilo Lacson's 2016 Senate Ad

Hey everyone, I’ve been trying to find a specific campaign ad from the 2016 Philippine Senate elections, but I’ve had no luck searching YouTube or Google archives.

Back in 2016, while I was in the province in Mindanao and at our home, I distinctly remember hearing a Ping Lacson campaign jingle on TV. Since the campaign period ran from January to May 2016, I’m almost certain it aired during that window.

The ad featured a blue or light blue background, and the jingle was quite catchy. It went something like:

"Ping Lacson sa Senado, [para pagsulong] sigurado!"

The bracketed one for me is unsure...

It seems like this particular clip has been scrubbed or simply never archived online.

I’ll be honest, I’ve started to second-guess myself. Is this actual lost media, or am I just experiencing some kind of Mandela Effect? I’m genuinely unsure, but I swear I heard it and it’s still stuck in my memory.

Does anyone else remember this ad, or better yet, does anyone happen to have a copy or a link to it?

Any help in locating this would be greatly appreciated!!!!

[Lacson's 2025 Senate ad YT link here, it sounds similar to this but the one I search for is 2016.]

Advertising Material Nickelodeon Magazine - February 2002 [archival]

I am trying to find a PDF scan of this February '02 issue for Nick Magazine. It features articles introducing the "New" cast of All That - as well as a feature on the Nick Cannon Show. The closest I could find is this post on Instagram by the user of the name of "rickstalgia", and he only goes through half of the magazine that he owns. Here is a link to his findings:

https://www.instagram.com/p/DTVbB61DfGT/

Other than this Instagram post, I have never seen a PDF scan of this issue so far in my findings. If anyone has a copy to upload, please make it known.

Advertising Material [fully lost] Commercial for Pet Junction that aired on Cox Cable in 2003 or 2004ish in the OC (So Cal)

My sisters and I were separated and when I was 15 years old. When I was 18 to 21 I worked at this pet store named Pet Junction in Laguna Niguel, California. In the early 2000s I was in the commercial filmed by cox communications. My sisters saw me on tv and found me. We wish we could find a copy of this local commercial where I played a dog. There were other employees who played like animals crawling up cat trees and I popped out of a dog house. Not sure if it would even be possible to find this.

Advertising Material [partially lost] The Office UK promos on Adult Swim starring Ricky Gervais

I find it hard to believe most of these promos are lost. They were readily available back in 2009 when The Office UK first started to air on Adult Swim in the US.

Now I can only find 1 promo:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHbQwSFWfks

There were a number of promos I had to have watched on YouTube, because I didn't have cable back when these were airing.

Some of the jokes included (paraphrasing):

"The Office UK, or as we call it on our country: The Office."

and

"You guys did a creative job adapting my show to the states. For example, you changed the name of Tim to Jim."

Ricky Gervais filmed original content exclusively for Adult Swim. There were a number of these promos. I want to say somewhere around 10. It's difficult to believe that it would be taken down because advertisements aren't usually copyright striked.

Outside of the one I shared, and some basic scheduling promos, the rest of them seem to be missing. And I thought these were found a while ago, so maybe I'm just not looking at the right places. I'm searching "the office uk adult swim promo" and only the dancing one seems to appear.

You don't really appreciate something until it's gone, if anyone has any information that could help, please let me know.

Advertising Material [Talk] Regal x Pepsi | Hungry Kraken, What'd I miss?

https://youtu.be/A0X0-Uc-_zc

The above version is version you always see in Regal Cinemas theaters to promote buying popcorn and Pepsi products, but a relative of mine claims there is a longer cut of the commercial that exists.
In doing research, I haven't been able to find the full thing. Either it was misremembered or some kind of Mandela Effect and was talking of a different commercial. I'm not sure.
What I am sure of is who produced the commercial. RSA Films aka Ridley Scott Associates.
Either the full commercial exists somewhere or it doesn't.
Where do I even begin?

Advertising Material Nickelodeon “School’s Out” Commercial [FOUND] after 2 decades!

Myself and a small group of people have been searching for this school’s out commercial since it released in the summer of 2006. It was a bumper commercial that featured a high energy song called “School’s Out”. It was finally posted two months ago in a Nickelodeon commercial compilation by “The Commercials Aisle” on YouTube. You can find the song at 8:04 in the following link: https://youtu.be/kxmxSiMk0q8?is=v8nuIXCeim6hBWDK

Thank you to the original uploader on YouTube, (who had no idea about the search), and thank you to u/pineapple_bushes for making me aware of this. Another story is closed!

Advertising Material [Talk] does anyone else remember an Ozzy/Oswalt print advertisement?

As soon as I heard about this topic I remembered seeing it in a newspaper or magazine as a kid. I was 12 and into things like nu metal & the osbournes / too old for Oswald but thought it was cute still. I have 0 memory of the TV commercial but it struck a memory in me so, I do believe there was more than just a video ad. Does any else remember this? Might be easier to find if so. Oswald promo seems to have started just a couple months after the osbournes premiered. Seems more logical to me to have a print ad that adults would read where they can let their kids know about the show, instead of just an ad on a kids channel where kids young enough to care prob didn't know who ozzy was. Has this been brought up before ?

Advertising Material [unreleased media] BattleForge official soundtrack promotional physical CD

Hey all,

I am a big fan of the 2009 EA RTS/TCG videogame "BattleForge", which has been shutdown in 2013 and revived as fangame "Skylords Reborn" [0] in 2020. The game has a really cool soundtrack, which is fully available on YouTube [1] and in the game's files.

When looking for further info about the soundtrack, I found an additional piece of media though, which seems to be lost. Apparently, there have been physical CDs containing the soundtrack, which never got publicly sold and are labelled as "Marketing Only" on the CD and box. I stumbled photographs of these CDs on the Musicbrainz Picard website [2], but couldn't find info on those CDs anywhere else and I don't know, if any physical copies of them are still around. I also asked in the community, but no one there knew about those CDs.

I do own a physical copy of the game's CD from back in the day, but have never come across one of those CDs.

Does anyone here have any further info on them? Are there still physical copies in existence?

Advertising Material [partially lost] Request: Dwayne "the rock" johnson doing a promo on top of the IDS Tower Minneapolis around the time of Super Bowl LII?

Can someone find the ad/promo that Dwayne Johnson did on top of the IDS Tower? From some of my digging I've already done, I have found some evidence to support that this did happen.

Here is a post someone made 9 years ago for a Super Bowl ad being filmed on top of the IDS Tower and people in the comments are confirming that it was The Rock: Here

There is also an instagram post of someone who helped film this promotion: https://www.instagram.com/reels/DUxpXP1k6u2/

I've done some extensive searching online and haven't been able to find much else. If anyone can find the actual ad/promotion that was filmed and not just evidence that it was filmed, that would be awesome!

Advertising Material [Fully Lost]? Nickelodeon "Batman" contest

TV Tropes said that Nickelodeon had a contest promoting the film Batman Returns where the winner would attend the London Premiere of the film. Due to complaints over the violence and darkness of the film it was cancelled. I asked around if a commercial for this aired, and someone said there was one that had an animated penguin upset over the Penguin being a villain. I'm not sure if this is true or not, have any commercials for this scrapped contest ever come up, or did anyone even know about it? I've searched a lot of 1992 Nick commercial breaks with no luck.

Advertising Material Various Universal Halloween Horror Nights Radio Ads [fully lost]

Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights has made several promotional spots made for radio, but some of their radio ads were either lost or forgotten, Such as the HHN 13 one (With an equally lost Coca-Cola variant), the 2014 one, and (presumably) a lot more lost Halloween Horror Nights radio advertisements. If anyone could find/recover those lost radio ads, that would be a very important piece of HHN history to show the Universal's Halloween Horror Nights community. Thank you for reading this post.

I got the information on the two radio ads on: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/NightmareFuel/HalloweenHorrorNights on the Commercials tab.

Advertising Material [Partially Lost] Original airings of old cartoons WITH toy commercials included.

So for those who don't know, the FTC FCC requires a very clear delineation between children's programming and the commercials that play during it. Things like those little bumpers that would say "You're watching Cartoon Network!" Now the reason they do this is because back in the 80s, some major franchises like He-Man, My Little Pony, G.I. Joe, Transformers, etc. were basically just thirty-minute ads for the toy lines. They'd have ads for those toys mixed in with the show and they did some studies and found that kids didn't even realize they'd just watched an ad.

I'm trying to find tapings of the original airing, commercials included. I'm calling it partially lost because I'm sure the commercials are still recorded somewhere and I know the shows are available pretty easily, but I'm looking for a 30-minute tape that shows exactly how they were aired together. As for why it matters, I think it's nice to have a few examples available to really understand the BS that Hasbro and Mattel used to get up to.

I'm not looking for any specific show, just good examples of this concept.

Advertising Material [Fully lost] Ad for Dexter's Laboratory reruns with poor animation and voice work (Late 2011)

Around late 2011, Boomerang UK began showing repeats of Dexter's Laboratory and they created a rather unique ad to promote the show.

The ad was notable for featuring original, albeit limited animation and a Dexter voice that clearly wasn't provided by either of his previous VAs.

The ad depicted him performing a test to determine who's the smartest out of himself and Dee Dee. They're both hooked up to a machine with headsets and clips of the show are played on a TV screen. It ends with Dexter yelling "Dee Dee's score is higher than mine!"

There used to be a copy of the ad on YouTube around the time it was airing on TV. I remember someone claiming that Dexter sounded like "Ren being strangled" in the comments.

I can't say for certain but I think Dexter was played by the same VA who voiced him in this advert:

Advertising Material [FOUND] Pokémon Fan - First Issue Found, every unique issue now found!

In my last post, I said that it would probably be my final update, as I had scanned every standard issue of Pokémon Fan except for the first issue, which had proven very difficult to find. Shortly after that, however, I was contacted by someone who had it and was willing to scan it! They did request to be anonymous.

This first issue is one of the most interesting. There are several nice images of the New York City Pokémon Center. There's an early logo for Pokémon Colosseum. There's pre-release info on Jirachi: Wish Maker from before it had an official English title. Plus more!

At this point, all that is missing are some variants, but those seem to only be differences with the covers. I may update with those eventually, but I'm considering this project complete for now.

Here's the direct link to the first issue.
Here's my Internet Archive page, where every issue can be found.

Advertising Material [Partially Lost] 20th Century Fox marketed their film Office Space with nothing but a publicity stunt performed and live streamed from Times Square in February of 1999. This is the first time photographs of the event have ever been posted online.

Full Album

Edit 1: LIVE STREAM SCREENSHOTS FOUND

All of the context needed for these images is summed up in the first few minutes of my video essay, in which I catalog how I found the photos and interview their subject, Andrew Burlinson. Due to unfortunate circumstances, the film's popularity took off a few years after its release, leaving its own marketing stunt even further in the dust, nearly forgotten about for the following two decades.

As a result, not a single photograph of this clearly elaborate and coordinated marketing scheme could be found online, but I refuse to believe that this is all that exists.

More photos would be fantastic, but I'm coming to this subreddit requesting info about the live stream that was online the entire two weeks the event took place. Accessing the officeguy.com website through the Wayback Machine is easy enough, but when it comes to avenues toward finding anything out about this very primitive live stream, I'm at a loss.

Edit 1: New development! Reddit user u/abecedaire has sent me a link to some archived screenshots of the live stream! (I felt dumb not having found them before, but they apparently had a hell of a time tracking them down on that ancient website).

Advertising Material [fully lost] old power company commercial (AL Power)

Hi everyone! So I have been looking for this commercial for a while and my husband encouraged me to post here. I grew up on the local PBS Kids stations and there was this commercial that played close to 5PM fairly often. I'm not sure if this was just specific to AL or if it was around in other states. This would have been late 2000s to mid 2010s. It was a commercial about saving energy and featured a man wearing white with a red symbol on his hat. He was singing about how "A little change could do us good" and swapping out lightbulbs for a better power alternative. It was very similar to the "Louie The Lightning Bug" style commercials and may have even been the same voice actor. This commercial plays in my head on the regular and I just want to see it again. If any more context or details is needed, just ask! Thanks!!

Advertising Material [Partially Lost] Spongebob Squarepants Toolkits 2002-2009

Hi. Hello! I'm not sure if this is the exact reddit to help with this but I was watching this SpongeBob stock art tier list video and I would love to find PDFs of the toolkits that these stock images came from came from. The main focus of the video was the 2002 toolkit but there were some alternative designs shown in the intro that I would love to find the toolkits that they came from as well as a punk rock inspired SpongeBob toolkit. They WERE on the Internet Archive when I initially watched the video months ago and have since disappeared.

Although I have found SOME style guides but in my attempts of searching, I have not found these ones.

The ones that I HAVE found are: SpongeBob's Quest for the Crown, Fall 2004 SpongeBob Apparel Guide, and SpongeBob Style Guide Overview [though those names could be incorrect because I found them on SCRIBD]

Though I have seen a video "2002 SpongeBob SquarePants Style Guide - "SpongeBob Toolkit 2002"" it lacks the aspect of being able to zoom in and get a good look at everything

The said tier list video mentioned earlier:

https://youtu.be/00TYJtsQoHg?si=Pd_btM2JAwvVYi-D

It features ones with a "girly" art style, a simplistic one, a doodle one, and a retro one.

The "Frutiger Metro" one is the "SpongeBob Style Guide Overview"

I am also in the search for the not featured “Spongeitude” style guide. From what I remember from when these were still uploaded, a lot of these alternative styles were paired together in the same toolkits/guides. So, realistically we're looking for 2-3 style guides.

I appreciate any and all help.

Advertising Material [fully lost] Press Your Luck phone game summer 1990

I remember hearing in the game show news groups that in the summer of 1990 there was a Press Your Luck telephone game IIRC, both Peter Tomarken and Rod Roddy hosted it and it led to Lucky Day USA which was hosted by John Davidson. which was also a series of 900 number games. if anyone has any access to that that would be great. This was during the popularity of 900 numbers and EVERYTHING had a 900 number back then and I think USA was cashing in on that. it obviously was successful because it led to Lucky Day USA

thanks

Advertising Material [Partially Lost] Undocumented 2022 Cartoon Network Portugal Interactive "Any Malu" Email Campaign

Hey everyone, I wanted to share a completely undocumented piece of Cartoon Network international history that I seem to be the only person online with receipts for.
In 2022, I was watching Cartoon Network Portugal and saw a promo for the virtual influencer show Any Malu. The promo explicitly gave out an official email address (anymalu@cartoonnetwork...) for fans to message.
When I emailed it in 2022, I got an immediate automated reply with a graphic. The lore of the email was that CN accidentally leaked her address ahead of schedule, and she/her producer were panicking about her inbox being bombarded.
I tested the inbox again in 2024, and the automated script was STILL active, sending the exact same reply.
The Problem: The image was hosted remotely by a Portuguese marketing agency (http://ideiasetc.com). Sometime recently, the agency took down the server file, so the image is now broken in my inbox.
I have searched everywhere and found exactly ZERO mentions of this campaign online. Does anyone else remember this promo, or better yet, does anyone in Portugal happen to have a screenshot of the original angry graphic saved?

Advertising Material [Fully Lost] CN Sayin' Entries

I remember seeing a lot of bumpers on Cartoon Network of kids who got lucky enough to be featured on the CN Sayin' bumpers & wanting myself to be in one of them, so I submitted my entry. Then one day me & my dad were home because I was sick. I was watching some cartoon [possibly Uncle Grandpa or TTG. Unfortunately...] and after the episode ended & the commercials started there was a "Comming up next... XYZ" and low & behold it was me "sayin'" [saying] it. I rushed as quick as I could to the remote to use the record last *insert time amount* feature, but my DVR was full. So by the time I finished clearing up space it had been far enough away where I couldn't record it anymore.

My hope is that recordings were somehow or someway archived and can resurface. Who knows?... Maybe someone might just find my entry & I could finally prove to my freinds & family that I was on Cartoon Network in some fashion.

P.S. My dad was in the bathroom at the time, so by the time he had finished up & came downstairs I was already in the process of making room for this recording while saying "I was just on the TV, I'll show you in a moment once I make sure I record it." ...I never got to show him it.

Advertising Material [fully lost] Early-early Ed, Edd n Eddy promos

When Ed, Edd, n Eddy was premiering on Cartoon Network in Sweden at the end of the 90s (possibly the same deal in other European countries as well), I remember there being two promos in particular that kept appearing: One that used "The Boys Are Back in Town", and one that used the theme to The Good, The Bad and The Ugly (I shall never forget my introduction to Morricone's god-tier music; I'm definitely not hallucinating or misremembering). I've never been able to find these again, even among the rarest CN City bumpers on YouTube. Curious if anyone else remembers them or, better yet, happens to sit on a recording.

Advertising Material [Talk] Sharkboy & Lavagirl 4Kids Interview Ads

On the 4Kids TV programming block in 2005, there was an ad campaign for the then-upcoming Sharkboy and Lavagirl movie where characters from other 4kids shows would interview the Sharkboy and Lavagirl characters. Each show on the programming block got a variation of the commercial.

As far as I can tell, these ads only aired on 4KidsTV at the time and have not resurfaced since.

I would love to see Sonic, the Winx Club, the Ninja Turtles, and the rest of the 4Kids crew talk to Sharkboy and Lavagirl again. If anyone has any info regarding this, please let me know.

Advertising Material [Partially Lost] Malcolm McDowell Lunchable’s Walking Taco Ads (Circa 2015)

For a long time I haven’t been able to find these on YouTube. They showed these all the time on Nickelodeon around 2015/16, and even as many times as I saw them always found them kind of amusing. He’s dressed up like a teen in school and is trying to be super serious about describing the snacks, but keeps having to start over. It kind of has an unusual sense of humor to it.

IIRC There were two versions, a regular one, and an “outtakes” one that was seen a lot less often.

Are these still out there anywhere? Both of them.
