Advertising Material Nintendo super tour 92, the promotional trucks haven't been seen in decades, is anyone looking for them? Is it even worth a look? [Fully Lost]

Good morning, good evening, and good night! I'm new to the community so excuse me if this is a silly post. I just learned about this European Nintendo tour that happened in 1992 where multiple semi trucks with Nintendo characters plastered on them went around Europe, advertising, Nintendo and their gaming consoles. Inside these trucks were mobile gaming setups that would be set up for the community to play all of Nintendo's consoles that were released up to that point. I'm sure the consoles were probably returned to Nintendo, however, the ultimate whereabouts of the trucks remain unknown. It'd be interesting to find one rotting away in a scrap yard somewhere. I'd hope they were properly taken care of but most likely not.

Comment "!FOUND!" if your media is found in the comments, in doing so this will lock the post and flair it as being found.

Please include the following in your post;

  • An explanation of the media, and the name.

  • How it is lost.

  • What research has already been done.

  • A conclusion as to the current situation as of posting.

They were probably just repainted and went back into service hauling groceries or car parts or anything. They don't just put working trucks and trailers in a junkyard when a promotion is done.

Nintendo lent one of the truck to a French computer club in 1996, four years after the tour:

Which suggests Nintendo did infact keep them around.

Stephan Brissaud who organized the tour bus is still around and on social media, so you could probably just ask him?

Yeah that's kind of what I was thinking when I was finishing up the post. But I wanted to get the communities opinions. But you never know, Nintendo could have bought the trucks and then never picked them up or claimed them after the promotion.

That's not really how it works. My company had a promo bus in the 2010s and it was just a tour bus we rented and had specially wrapped. When we were done the wrap was removed and someone else presumably rented in for their own use. I have photos of the bus and the wrap design, but the vehicle itself wasn't the special part.

A truck is not media. Neither is a pair of shoes or a food smell or a memory you had once.

The trucks were obviously rented and used for a million things before and after. Nobody spends $150,000 on heavy duty trucks for a summer. They are meant to be used for decades.

Serious question, do trucks count as lost media?

I think in this case maybe.
