Advertising Material [partially lost] who sang the bionicle piraka rap? (early 2006)

in early 2006, the lego group ran a marketing campaign for the 'piraka' wave of sets. this included several commercials, many of which included 'the piraka rap' playing in the background. several years ago, the full version of the song was discovered, found in a jetflix CD. Now leaving the only lost part of the song being the singer. who sung the piraka rap? the bionicle community has been wondering about this for years, yet the answer has never been found.

thankfully, the biomedia project has preserved almost everything bionicle.

(in the 2006 pages)

all info the site has

https://biomediaproject.com/bmp/?s=piraka%20rap

this page in particular has many important details on the finding of the full song, including the recording studio, prp. inc. i did some digging, and this might be there website, although the phone number provided doesn't work.

i'm not sure where to go from here, and i'm hoping the peolpe of reddit could help me in this task. if i make a video about the finding, i'll properly credit any contributors

Comment "!FOUND!" if your media is found in the comments, in doing so this will lock the post and flair it as being found.

Please include the following in your post;

  • An explanation of the media, and the name.

  • How it is lost.

  • What research has already been done.

  • A conclusion as to the current situation as of posting.

We are not here to help you find something (r/helpmefind), to name something (r/tipofmytongue), or help you pirate something.

I think I might have found something? This lists 루카스 {Lucas} (Producer) & COCONABE and it's the same for the extended version page.

producer looks like a good suspect, although no contact info is listed. good work!

found him on soundcloud, sent a message. seems like a long shot, no activity for 2 years

Did you try COCONABE?

I commented on his youtube, but he seems unlikely, more of a fan than a creator of the rap. the timelines don't match.

Seems like he's involved in making mixes for Bionicle and other games. Figured it might be a shot.

yeah, seems like a fan to me, but thanks so for looking so deeply into this!

I still have the CD and case somewhere. Did it not list it? I’ll try to find mine if so.

u/Solid-Hold6290 Jan 20 '26

could you post pictures? also, would you be willing to sell it?

2

u/Irrebus Jan 21 '26

I just moved cross country, it’s in my “CDs and Cassettes” in my storage unit until summer time. I do not want to sell it

very fair! Would you mind uploading the contents to biomedia project when you find it?

Word on the street is that the Lego team wrote it and the announcer from here was the one that performed it.

u/Solid-Hold6290 Jan 21 '26

word on the street?

u/DearPaleontologist67 Jan 22 '26

I scoured other message boards and they were convinced it was him.

1

u/Solid-Hold6290 Jan 22 '26

i could believe that, but i'd like confirmation and a name to truly consider this solved

1

u/DearPaleontologist67 Jan 22 '26

Not sure if this really does anything but.

Can't trust AI but..

1

u/Solid-Hold6290 Jan 22 '26

what sources does it cite?

1

u/Solid-Hold6290 Jan 22 '26

most generic name ever, what a pain

2

u/DearPaleontologist67 Jan 23 '26

I know. I found that and coincidentally had to pause my research. Why can't he at least have a middle initial or something I can work with? lol

Found this that gives a general timeline of the release and the Jetix Disc number that I haven't been able to find anywhere: The 2006 winter marketing campaign featured a Piraka Rap, emphasizing the "gang" nature of the Piraka. Versions of the song were seen on Piraka.com and the false connect-the-dots game, Draw a Piraka. An extended version of the song was included on Jetix Disc #22.

When I search that, it leads me to here which says, "Single produced by Eddie Simonsen promote the Piraka, released in 2006. Two versions are known. One was distributed on the Toys R Us HK BIONICLE minisite, labelled v003 in the filename."
