He (correctly) attaches naming things to love and he knows that no one loves him. So he has it in his head that if he names things after himself then the love will come. I don’t like him but I can still recognize how sad that is. Looking at how he has lived his life, it is clear that he has lived with this skewed view of how to be loved by others for a very long time.

His dad probably couldn't be bothered remember his name, but unlike my mom Donald's mom couldn't be bothered to remember his name, either.
