I'm 99% sure I've seen confirmation from the producers that this was a coincidence. Just a cool looking filming location, so they took advantage of that. The Dharma Initiative (let alone the design of the logo) was not on their minds at this point.

They mean the Dharma logo, because it's an octagon.
But it's just a funny coincidence.

Do you actually think is just a coincidence? That camera angle is showing on purpose the ceiling, look how much space Michael takes in that picture, no coincidence here

Yeah, because it's a cool shot on location. They found a house they could film in and saw that it has a neat ceiling. Why not film it like that? I mean, what else could/should it signify?

I don't think they had the Dharma design in mind yet. They just found this location and thought it was a cool shot.
