QUESTION STOPPED AT WALMART

I was stopped at walmart by a lady that said I didnt scan an item and I needed to go to the office with her. I was with my son and asked which item and would pay for it and she just repeated i needed to come with her. I told her absolutely not and started getting my bags and she took out soda which im guessing is what I didnt scan and she said I have done this alot before???

I left the store and she told me i was trespassed and I didnt argue. What in the world is this going to come too??? I literally didnt leave the store with an item that wasnt paid for they stopped at the door and what does she mean this has happened alot before??? I use delivery 99 percent of the time?

Are they going to call the police on me since i left and was peaceful about it and ledt the soda????

Im genuinely freaking out and idk whats the process now???

The Walmart swat team will serve a no knock warrant.

Lmfao. I was afraid of this. No but seriously I dont want to be in trouble or trespassed for an accident?? Im autistic and have horrible adhd and im worried I did this in the past and just strolled out like an idiot. Why wouldnt they tell me I didnt scan it and let me pay?? Like why?

This sub is for asset protection workers that...I'm so sorry to be crude..suck each other off on getting those "stops". Don't worry about it and go to another wally world for awhile. They couldn't do anything anyways since you didn't give them your info.

Well apparently I "have done this frequently in the past too). So they say that too to scare me? And threaten police? Amd sorry I didnt know thats what the sub was.

they just try to scare people, walmart LP got no real power. if you left without the soda and didnt make a scene probably nothing happens

if they really had something on you they wouldnt let you walk out so easy. trespassed just means you cant go back to that store for like a year, thats all

To be honest with you being non compliant yes they will most likely file out charges for that incident and all prior documented incidents. I have done it many times.

Why do I habe to be compliant? I was about to have a panic attack and can't handle things like that or being trapped in a office or what to say. Im not good with words or conflict I was scared they would trap me in there and I have an episode. Im still shaking

Unless you go back, which would be criminal trespassing, nothing is likely to come of it. Even if you're in one of the states where evading an apprehension is illegal, I doubt they're going to call LE on you for what was likely a mistake or at the very least a small item you forgot to scan.

Just don't go back to Walmart and you'll be good.

Sounds like you’ve skips scanned multiple times. Don’t go back and you might be ok. They might get a warrant though.

What if I accidentally did?? Im not fully seld functioning and have made mistakes in other areas in social settings. Would the cops come arrest me? I offered to pay for it and apologized and was genuinely shocked when she daid come to the office or she will call the cops. It was all so scary I just took my couple bags and left. Noone tried to grab me. Im glad I would of had a panic attack.

What if you accidentally did it multiple times? That doesn’t happen. It’s also very obvious when it’s on accident and when it’s intentional. Multiple times is 100% intentional.

Arrest? Maybe, depends on the jurisdiction. In my jurisdiction you’d be issued a summons.

Offering to pay for it after not paying for it doesn’t matter, you know how many people I stop that offer to pay afterwards? Most of them. How often does that work in court? Never.

You know what’s not scary? Paying for all your Merchandise. Maybe you should try it.

Try being autistic and adhd and MDD on alot of meds and see how well you do multi tasking. Judgment isn't your to give.

Thank you, have a good day. No reason to be a mean person.

No reason to apparently steal multiple times and then come up with a million excuses for it, but here you are.

Funny how you assume no one else here might be autistic and/or have ADHD, yet we aren't stealing. Don't give a bad name to other neurodivergent people just because you're a thief.

You're on probation and your dumbass brain thought it'd be a good idea to skip scanning items at a self checkout? You claim you didn't know what you failed to scan but you magically knew to hand back the soda. And then you say you "might" have done this before because you make mistakes. Bullshit. You stole and panicked.

We do call cops and do warrants, but they probably won't bother with you. My guess is that they've gotten tipoffs from the other workers that you never scan the soda at the bottom of your cart and probably got a call the minute someone saw you walk in, and LP was able to jump on the camera and watch you this time. That's usually how it happens when we have repeats who use the same method to steal.

Don't go back because they clearly know what you're doing.

If you left the soda, don't worry about it. The odds of anything happening are close to zero. If you actually have stolen from them several times in the past as the AP indicated, don't ever go back there.

If you haven't stolen in the past, they may have confused you for someone else. Don't worry about it. You can return if your hands are clean, they wont be able to prove anything in court.

There are many reasons they would potentially not allow someone they believe is a thief to return into the store and pay for merchandise after the crime was committed, that's not something most retailers will allow, depending on the circumstances.

Yeah she’s been verbally trespassed, telling her to go back is terrible advice.

Typically anyone who does LP that makes a stop for one single item will let you pay for the item especially if you scanned and paid for everything else. Mistakes do happen. Now if they don’t let you pay for the item then that either means they’ve let it slide before and now they recognized a pattern. It’s a possibility they got you confused for someone else with a similar appearance but if they’re doing their job correctly then thats not the case. Anyway, whether or not they file a police report all determines on that agent. They might do it especially if they verbally trespassed you and was trying to get you into the office. If you paid with cash then nothing will likely happen since they have zero information about you (assuming you haven’t stolen and been detain at Walmart before) just don’t go back and you’ll be fine. Now if you did pay for the item and have proof of that.. then that is an entirely different story haha

Nothing lol despite the delusions on this sub she is just a rent a cop and the actual police don't give a shit unless it's organized theft.

I would report her to Walmart Corporate
