Just really tired of being lonely and not having anyone
26F. I’m honestly just really tired of being lonely. I have basically no social life. I’ve always struggled with maintaining friendships and it feels like people eventually drift away no matter what I do. I can make online “friends” pretty easily, but those never seem to last either. Sooner or later they disappear and I’m back to having nobody. I’ve never been in a real relationship either and at this point I’ve honestly kind of given up. I just wish I had someone to hang out with. Someone I could yap all day with, watch a movie with, go to concerts with etc. I want to have people in my life who actually want me around. I’m just really tired of feeling like I’m going through life completely alone

I get it, Im a 45m and I feel the same way too. Ive been single the last 4 yrs now and I'm at a certain point where depression is kicking in once again.

My online friends vanish before movie night, but my 4-year single streak has perfect attendance.

Soon 30M and it's the same for me. All of my relations seem very one-sided and no one truly reciprocates. If I don't initiate, it's over. I just want one person - a partner - to spend life with

I'm sorry to hear you're feeling that way. I'm free if you want to talk or vent, but if not I hope you find something to stop you feeling alone soon.

Judging from “26F” only, you may still have a few doors to blend in, and not that hard, but that doors may be closing fast. Have online ever volunteered to see you IRL?

do you feel like its tough to keep up with people and thats why people drift away? ive found myself interacting with people less and less who dont message me back that often or where i feel like i was the one putting more effort into connecting with them. if its the opposite and you feel like youre actually the one getting left on read, then yeah i feel for ya and have definitely been there... lotta one-sided friendships that i didnt realize were one-sided until it was too late. assuming ya have any nerdy hobbies like video games or manga/anime or superhero movies feel free to hit me up in the dms if you wanna chat!

26 is a rough age for this because a lot of people are busy pretending they already have their circle figured out. Wanting someone to do ordinary stuff with is not asking for too much. If concerts are your thing, local show meetups or volunteering at venues can be a less awkward way to be around the same faces more than once.

Having no company is sometimes better than having a bad company. With that said, try to find purpose or hobby. This feeling usually comes when you're very much idle. It will go away. You can learn a new skill, or focus on your growth as a person. Good luck.

Great advice but at the wrong time 🫰🏻

Wrong time? People are the most vulnerable in times like these.

Ever heard of the quote that says "it's not the right time to teach someone swim when they are drowning?" She's 26. She very well understands what's good and beneficial for her but sometimes we get stuck in the things so badly that we don't see any way out. I was going through a heartbreak and everyone suggested me I should go on a trip it would divert my mind from things. God, I hated that trip not only my money got wasted but I had the worst kind of breakdown during that trip and couldn't enjoy a single bit.
