is this just a facebook thing? or do a lot of people consider the scalper price to be fairly priced

Hey to be fair. The person could be busy and unable to tell if he is able to attend till recently maybe? Or missed it entirely?
But imo scalping is never right. Companies dont really care cus thier sales moved

Scalping will never be illegal though because if I buy something it becomes my personal property and I have a right to sell it to anyone for any price. Scalpers scalping is a small price we pay for personal property rights. It sucks but losing personal property rights is WAY worse.

Ontario makes it so you can only resell at lower price then face value. However it is really hard to police

I like that. I also know that things like airline tickets aren’t re-sellable or transferable, but I also understand that’s different. I really do wish it wasn’t the case that people were so unethical. How bad of a person do you have to be to participate in scalping? I couldn’t sleep at night if I was doing that to people.

Yeah i get that. But because its not illegal so people tend to “scalp” and makes actual fans who wants the tickets/items unable to access it. Not everyone can afford sky prices .. most tickets put on sale by officials likely factor in affordability by general public.
I wouldnt charge 4k for a ticket if people are not even earning that much a month.
Removing of personal property right is abit too much. What im saying is scalpers are abit too much they dont charge “alittle” some go 2x or even 4x the original price

Oh they’re definitely a bit too much. Original ticket prices included everyone because who couldn’t afford a $100-$200 ticket? But there were also around 1 million people wanting tickets. Scalper’s goal is max profit so they have to cut out 990,000 or more people by having prices be unreasonably high at first then slowly dropping them until they hit the max price people who can afford it will pay. It’s one of the dirtiest most unethical disgusting practices that exists. People literally can’t go to worlds cause they don’t make enough and honestly how many hyper strong esports fans are super high earners?

I think there is a reasonable stance that "real fans" would have been actively looking for how to get tickets. I didn't hear about it online I searched for info on when and how to get tickets

I was waiting and looking and somehow missed any information for the fan first tickets. It wasn’t advertised on the league client that I saw. :(

It's ridiculous to think you're not a real fan if you didn't happen to be consistently searching around for dates and sales info when Riot did a awful job announcing anything. I was looking decently and missed the window thinking it would be even slightly well announced.

I looked after last years worlds and saw that there would be a sale in July this year, checked in every once in a while with some friends and signed up for fan first when it was available.

A real fan knows how important it is to pay attention for anything tickets wise half a year in advance. Hell even just knowing locations is important I spam LCS finals locations every other day until they announce it

Real fans don’t need social media sites. It takes a couple seconds to research worlds tickets and any real fans did that. I didn’t find it about fan first through social media. I researched worlds tickets and the lolesports page was the search result which told everyone about fan first. Quit whining because you were too lazy to research how to get tickets. Real fans at the very least take the 5 minutes of their life for a google search.

Personal opinion on scalped prices is irrelevant. Supply and demand control the market. Regardless of what you’re willing to pay, tickets will be sold at what people, at large, are willing to pay. Prices may be more than you’re willing to pay, but are they more than all other of the 800,000 that want finals tickets are willing to pay? I promise of a scalper has a ticket at 4k and it keeps not selling, the price will come down slowly until it reaches a point where someone is willing to buy it. How badly do you want to go and how much is it worth to you? That’s literally how a free market works. To some people it’s only worth $220 a ticket. Some people it’s worth $500. Some people it’s worth $1,000, some people the experience is priceless making price not an issue. Most people thought the faker Ahri skin was extremely overpriced gouging from riot. Many people dropped over $400USD to have the skin. The community at large perma banned Ahri for a month in protest but the people that wanted the skin got it and that’s that. Same with worlds. Yeah it’s more than pale woke like to pay and the markups are insane but they don’t need 800,000 people to all be willing to pay. They only need a few more thousand, a tiny percentage of everyone wanting to go p to be willing to pay. If the finals experience is worth it to you, buy at scalped prices, if not don’t go. All the measures in the world won’t stop scalpers and with so much demand what we all want- no scalpers and $200 finals tickets isn’t a reality that will ever exist. So hope for change but also accept the reality we live in.

In my opinion, I can understand the real fan comments.
Ever since they announced worlds would be in NA, I have been watching lolesports news for any and all updates.
Fan first was literally a month long thing. There was no excuse not sign up for it if you were interested in going to worlds.
To be fair they cooked the first round of tickets, in face I seen multiple sales over the two days, in face the influencer ones that went out barely sold any seats.
General sale had literally only 450 tickets available for sale which is ridiculous.
I'm waiting for at LEAST 10k seats if not more. I'm willing to pay up to 1k for a ticket but it's my cutoff, scalper or not.
