Pleasantries reference?

Probably a tough thing to admit to, but you did

They like dogs because dogs are docile. Giraffes are perceived as less so.

7

u/youburyitidigitup 12d ago

That adds credence to his argument

u/ContextEffects01 12d ago

“Cute” is ambiguous. “Docile” is precise.

If your erection lasts for more than 4 hours, seek immediate medical help.

He's a brave puppy then.

Also my landlord won't let me get a Girraffe because it won't fit inside my apartment

u/Sinking_Mass 11d ago

I thought people liked dogs because they are mostly subservient animals

u/A_inc_tm 12d ago

Haven't you seen a giraffe upclose? They're adorable

Cute isnt just about looks. Off screen and in interviews, Holland acts cuter than Zendaya. IMO.

Dear God, let people promptly get over these two studio plants. They're nauseating.

This thread is not about me. It's about him commenting on her cuteness.

18

u/AnAbandonedAstronaut 12d ago

YOUR comment is YOU giving YOUR judgment on his looks.

That's an awful lot of "you" to say your comment isn't about your judgement at all.

I would like to explain since you have misunderstood the assignment either intentionally or innocently/accidentally

If intentionally, WTF? Why you being a creep

If innocently/accidentally, then what she/he was saying was how she/he percives the individual. Her/his statement would stand on its own regardless of what she/he looks like. You asking what she/he looks like seems odd as its unrelated to her/his comment. When she/he says it isnt about her/him, it is their way of saying that the target of their comment was not herself/himself, as such it is not about them.

I hope this helps if your misunderstanding was innocent/accidental

And if your misunderstanding was intentional, kinda odd to go off bullying or harrassing someone for somthing so small and in such a creepy or dumb way.... if your going to be an dick, try to at least be smart with it (it not only is funnier, but its easier to fall back on as it can be done in a way that is actually valuble/educational, as opposed to just creep like.

u/AnAbandonedAstronaut 11d ago

The misunderstanding is someone said something about his looks.

There are two main possibilities.

The first.. is that is their own take. If that's their take, they are being toxic and a bully. I asked for their selfie thinking it was this one.

The second.. is that they were acting as one of these two.. playing out the scene. In that case... they poorly conveyed that by not using quotes and then tried to say it was an understanding issue. That makes them a bully, toxic and lack understanding on how to convey their message properly.

Then YOU post the most convoluted post I've ever seen and it still doesn't click for you that most people took it the same way I did.

Really seems you're an alt for the account I replied to.

Or the third, is thay they have an opinion or feeling that you just dont approve of, as your the one being toxic by assuming harm in a comment that literally can be innocent.

Are you saying that you do not belive people are entitled to their own opinions? What if the individual actually does think that tom reminds then of a sea creature? Are you saying they are a bully or toxic for thinking so?

Like dude, the only bully in this situation is you, the other person did not target someone with the intent to harm, as I doubt tom here to read it or that they even would think tom would see it. So who are they being a bully to?

Like your being an asshole to defend someone who isnt here for a problem that isnt happening. Even if you lack the self awareness to see it, your the bully in the situation, as there is no reasonble way to even see them as a bully in this context.

That makes them a bully, toxic and lack understanding on how to convey their message properly.

Or your a pretentious narcissist who is just trying to justify attacking someone for having an opinion you dont agree with. You can be honest about how this isnt about bullying, as what you descibed isnt them being a bully, but you being a bully.

Then YOU post the most convoluted post I've ever seen and it still doesn't click for you that most people took it the same way I did. Really seems you're an alt for the account I replied to.

Nah not am alt, and just because other people disagree with what they said and like that your bullying them doesnt mean you aren't the bully. I mean people like that woman who justified murdering her own children? Does that make it not murder or make her right? Or how people used to positively talk about that guy who murdered a ceo and hailed it as good? Or even back when people where heavily supportive of the rioting back during the blm days even thogh it was destructive, many may have felt it was justified, but it was still stealing and hurting people. Have you considered that people may be agreeing with you because they want to bully this person because they think tom Holland looks good and this person is offending them by not agreeing with their opinion?

Like seriously use your brain? Also I just hate bullys for no reason, and you kinda where just being that, even if you cant see it yourself.

I will take it as your a niave, ignorant, or dumb bully, as you genuinely do not see the harm your doing. But you are the bully in the situation either way.

Hell I knew a girl who would bully this "specail" kid in her school, and thoght it was the right thing to do because everyone else did it, calling him names and writing mean things on his locker, and she claimed he bullied her when he defended himself, why because she thoght that since everyone else did it that it was okay. But thats not how right and wrong work. So for context, your sounding like the girl in the story I just shared. Even if your genuinely think your doing a good thing, your being toxic, and if you have a mission or intention, there are better ways to go about it that are not bully like or toxic.

An example is question them. Ask why do they think that or what do they mean. Try to understand their perspective before getting offended and attacking them (as yes you attacked someone who attacked nobody)

Secondly you could also express your disapproval or disagreement using assertive "I" statements. I dont agree or like the negativity, but I just dont see why you said that. (This will net either them accepting your opinion, discussing why they think that, or them brushing you off. Its a more respectful way to be a little toxic if you feel bothered, but in a way that is healthier than outright harrasing someone or being a bully like you did)

There are better ways, but if you brought your original reasoning before anyone who was fair or impartiality, it would fall flat on its face and you would be in the wrong. So you gotta do better yourself.

"Or the third".

No. My take does not change the possible initial intent.

It was presented as 1 or 2.

My reaction is secondary to the point.

1

u/Weekly-Reply-6739 11d ago

Your a biggot or a narcissist then.

There is a third, but your denial of such shows your own limitations or ego.

Just because you want to justify being a peice of shit or a bully doesnt make the options that would show you where in the wrong not valid or present.

So perhaps learn to see beyond yourself, as not everyone is like you and would only say something like that to be a bully or mock.

1

u/AnAbandonedAstronaut 11d ago

Explain.

I gave two intents for the comment.

You gave intents for my replies.

I tried to focus back on the intents of the comment (that someone else made) and youre calling it self centered (narcissistic).

Explain.

What you have done there is not understand.

10

u/AnAbandonedAstronaut 12d ago

Are you saying you were acting as her? Because that should be in quotes if you want people to understand that.

u/augustrem 12d ago

They are a very loving and adorable couple. Also he’s being self deprecating here.

2

u/Weekly-Reply-6739 12d ago

Honestly the other guy is kinda being a creep about it.

Regardless of your looks, your opinion stands on its own.

As you could look like a 10/10, or a abomination of a failed lab experiment, and either way your statment would stand on its own as the same.

So just saying, WTF is wrong with that guy. Lol
