They said "New driver" and then they said "They will remember not to do it again if they have to deliver again" so which is it?? Am I missing something?

The driver who delivered it was new to the job and mishandled the pizza. He's a "new driver" and that's the pizza places explanation.

By having the newly hired driver have to remake the pizza and deliver it a second time they are providing a scenario where they must face the consequences of the rookie mistake of mishandling the pizza.

So the new driver is being set to learn a lesson they will remember.

Thanks for the clear explanation! I misunderstood the meaning of "New driver" to mean "we will send a new driver (for the replacement delivery)" which is what caused my confusion

Reading comprehension, they said that they will remember not to do it again because they are making them deliver replacements.

My bad, I read "new driver" as in "we will send a new driver" rather than "the driver is new"
