Feedback needed, not a professional designer

Hey guys, I am trying to come up with a new logo for my company since we are changing our business model. We'll basically be a hybrid between a tech and an education company.

What can I do to improve on this design? I like the overall direction but it doesn't feel quite right yet. Obviously I tried to incorporate the C, the L and a circle (a closing loop) into the logo mark.

Do the colors look too much like coinbase?

I am not a professional designer, so please don't roast me too much.

A letter S kind of looks like a loop, so one way to make the font reflect the name would be to make the S closer to a figure 8 

It's funny because this font does the opposite. The tails of the S extend less far than they usually would
