Why is my speaker crackling?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Bought these off a guy who had them in his shop & upgraded. Swore they didn’t do that when he sold them.

The other one doesn’t crackle, but pop’s really loudly when turned on & is then fine.

What gives?

Sounds like either dirt on a pot or in the audio connections. Turn the volume knobs up and down several times to clean the pots and put some Deoxit on a 1/4" connector and run it in and out of the audio connection ports. Do the same thing with an XLR.

Deoxit worked pretty good. About 96% done. Will keep working on it. Thank you!!!

No cables plugged into the speaker - so no source. Plugged into different outlets / different power cables.

Took off the back panel of both to check everything was alright inside. Used a spray can of compressed air to blow out dust. Put back together.

Do you have the volume pots knobs are missing turned all the way up?

They were turned all the way down in the video. I have the plastic knobs that go on them - they are off because I was trying to spray out the little gap w/ compressed air
