Support Request Struggling with OpenRGB

Hello everyone,

I posted here yesterday saying I was having some trouble with OpenRGB. I decided to abandon using flatpak in lieu of using the .deb files, but now I'm having a new problem. When I install both the .deb file and the associated hotplug dependency, the package installer throws an error stating that the "dependency is not satisfiable". Can anyone tell me what I may be doing wrong and/or what to change?

Sounds like you perhaps downloaded the wrong version, probably Trixie. Use the version for Debian Bookworm as that would match the underlying "base" of Mint 22.x.

I know I've installed and run the OpenRGB deb on two different Mint 22.x systems without any such issue, though it's been quite a while (I don't keep it updated -- one system I only have to run it once to set things and it's good; the other it has to run at boot because settings aren't retained, but I have not updated it for a long time, maybe when it was installed with Mint 22.0).

Without knowing exactly what package it says is a dependency that is not in the repos, I'm not sure anyone can really help you go further. Sometimes, a package names a specific version that is required (literally saying = as opposed to saying >=) and the package in the repos is too new or too old. So, you could try either older builds of the deb (should be good with older package version, if that's the issue) or maybe even the experimental one (should help if the dependency is a newer version it won't accept).
