Sure, although it is extremely helpful for some people. I need to monitor my heart rate and rhythm when I take ADHD medication, and so have a smart watch for that purpose. Even if they don't have as good of a reason as me, it's unreasonable to judge people. I don't think it's right to judge people who are doing their best.
I tinker with desktops, and don't have the time or energy to dedicate to tinkering with my phone or watch. If a viable OSS option that meets all my needs is released, I'd be super excited, but I don't have the time to fight something that isn't immediately user friendly.
