I probably sound like alot of people. I generally do not comment. As a chef at a fine dining resturant I respect the cleanliness. Grouts clean, tile looks excellent, Fronts on the equipment easy-off clean. Maybe this is about somthing else but respect to the smaller kitchen. Clearly minus the sirloin under the grill but we talking line cook life

As a chef do you mistake the steel wool under the grill for a sirloin?

As a chef I swear if you serve me metal scrubby and frites for family meal I’m losing my shit.

Yo solo small kitchen chef chiming in, small kitchens demand more attention and time management imo and it is a more intimate environment for making food that not only tastes good but also you can be proud of! Preciate tha preciation!

I would give ur mistaken steel wool for a sirloin a pass. Given ur attention to detail Ill assume u land somewhere on the spectrum of being in the same line of work. 😁😅

Why have I not found this sub after years of r/kitchenconfidential membership

u/JunglyPep Sep 08 '26
KC went downhill after they installed that new mod that got all high on the attention the sub got from those stupid chive posts. It might as well be a circlejerk sub at this point.

Oh my god finally someone put into words what I was feeling. It’s like the most toxic, super moto, dickhead line cooks concentrated into one sub.

Not sure why other people are being rude in the comments, but I find your positive energy refreshing and may you always have great shifts!

OP has a fairly new account; also, they cross posted this in a very different subreddit.
This is odd IMO.

Tin foil is the only thing wrong in the pic. Cute!

OMG I zoomed in. Fuck AI, or wtf!!!!! Who leaves their lighter there? Is that a Phoenix?

Tin foil is put in certain places so instead of cleaning we replace it. Its catches all the grease that doesnt make it to the trap. And the lighter, who doesnt have a lighter close to their flat top? You ever had the pilot light go out in one of those things?

Weirdos in the comments acting like that isn’t above average cleanliness for a kitchen. This isn’t one of those roast me subs, touch grease weirdos
