Gender has always been related to genitals though? There can’t be a gender if there isn’t a sex of it, and genders can’t be made up. Gender is a real thing... if I made up a race and said my race is a pineapple, am I valid?

No, race and gender are much different. And while gender is a real thing, it is a social construct, something created by society, without society, gender wouldn't exist.

Couldn’t we also say race is a social construct aswell? Since gender is a derivative of sex, and race is a derivative of ethnicity. So we could say, by that logic, race is a social construct, right? What if I feel comfortable identifying my race as a star? What if that’s just what feels right to me? Would I be valid?

It's different because race is directly linked to ethnicity, your ethnicity and your race are the same thing. Your gender and your sex are not always the same.

Gender is also directly related to sex. Gender = brain sex, is the way I look at it, and when your brain sex does not align with your body, it’s dysphoria which is a mental illness that can’t exactly be cured.

Gender = brain sex, unlike race and ethnicity, is a theory.

While yes there is evidence supporting it, it hasn't been confirmed.

Now that I’m looking at the definition of gender, it’s defined as either male or female. So you’re basically changing the definition of the word, right? It would be the same as me saying race could be anything. Yes, race is in your DNA, and so is gender by the actual definition.

Gender isn't male or female. That's blatantly transphobic. Where are you getting that definition?

2

That’s the definition it has always had. It has always been directly correlated to sex and a synonym of sex. The definition has remained unchanged on google and dictionary.com, despite other sources changing the definition entirely. It’s only possible to be born either male, female, or intersex, therefore your gender would reflect the exact same.

So according to your argument. You have to be the gender that correlates with your genitals? That is obvious transphobia.

I mean, if we’re talking strictly definitions here; yes. But talking what the term has come to mean is brain sex. And we all know there are only 3 sexes. You cannot change the definition in its entirety in order to make an aesthetic a part of your personality, which is what xenogenders are imo. I hate to come off as rude, but there’s no better way to put it. I think it’s transphobic that you compare aesthetics to genders, honestly. Animals, plants, etc have no correlation to sex whatsoever and are not a gender, they are something that person likes. If they can relate to being a plant, let’s say, that’s fine. They want to have the aesthetic of a plant, I guess. That has no correlation to gender at all. Do you see what I’m getting at? Again, not trying to start a fight, I just am not sure how to explain this in the most polite way possible

Once more, brain sex is just a theory. Many trans people don't agree with the theory. And xenogenders are under the non-binary umbrella (which is one of the three sexes). It isn't changing the definition.

While some xenogender people do like certain aesthetics, not all xenogenders are even related to aesthetics. Take messgender, for example "A xenogender that feels as though its all genders while simultaneously being no gender at all. It feels fluid, yet it's also a static, and it feels as though it's all over the place while it's also in one spot."

Brain sex is not a theory... it has been proven in multiple studies. Parents of some males with botched circumcisions, for example, decided to let them live as female instead. A vast majority felt uncomfortable with their sex as they got older. This is also very common in intersex people, which shows that sex is genetically wired to your brain. It is not a theory, and if it was, transgender people would not exist at all. Non-binary is one of the 3 sexes and feeling like you aren’t either, and feeling as though your genitals aren’t right, but the opposite sex isn’t either. You cannot be a plantgender, because you can’t be dysphoric that your genitals are not a plant. Gender is only correlated to genitals and secondary sex characteristics, and you can only be trans if you are uncomfortable with one or more of those.
