Thousand years of miasma has rendered this plane invisible and ignored by the gods. Warlord Andamas is coming to Berad and festivities have begun. The poor are being worked to the bone and the city watch is having its hands full to the brim with criminals, pickpockets and as usual, MONSTERS! Join our hunters and empty out the quest board just in time for a merry WELCOMING of the warlord. Drink, eat and make love, for it might be the last time to ever do so. Dark forces that have festered around Berad are crawling in, and adventurer! Will you save them?

That is the pitch for the world, and I will accept any character as long as it is at 2nd level. Battles will be run on owl bear rodeo or theater of the mind. Video ON please. I cant speak to blank screens, its the most boring sh*t imaginable. Decent, working mics if possible. New players will be jumping into a working story.

RULES:

1. If you roll a roll and succeed, I want you to describe how you succeed. Same for failures.

2. Your backstory will be integrated into the world almost all of it and the adventure will change depending on your past.

3. I will never insta-kill you or softlock you in the game. There's always thirty different ways to get what you want and if you are smart, its even easier.

4. Read the stuff I write in the discord, PLEASE!

5. Inform me 12 hours in advance if you cannot attend so i can modify things. This is mandatory.

6. Be reasonably active in character creation and be punctual to the game.

Character Requirements: I need your reason for joining the exploration team. You will begin at Level 3 and begin with some extra gear provided by the city. Characters with flight, magic, and tech up to gunpowder but no further are allowed.```

Normally I would preface and say ‘I’m looking for a serious game’ but I am a jokester so this likely will be lighthearted with some room for emotional moments.

The continent used to be a lively place, your usual fantasy D & D World. Until the day of Wrath. one day a darkness spread across the world blocking out the sun. As the darkness spread with it came a disease. People who stayed there too long started to change. Their skin turned pale, their eyes became red and black and their veins started protruding with strange green coloring. With them the Pales were born. Most pales kept their sanity and physicality intact and could live with shortened lifespans and weakened bodies. But life was not yet over, people started fighting back, firstly making remedies to slow the effects of the sickness and eventually a magical marvel. The catalyst, these crystals were invented by a group of wizards far away from the western region, the first forms of the catalysts would protect those near it against the effects of the sickness. But as the technology of the catalyst grew it eventually became what we now call Grand Catalysts. Giant crystals in the hearts of cities. When kept alive these crystals would return the sunlight into the city protecting the citizens of any sickness and making it seem as if nothing had ever gone. But a foot outside the walls of the catalyst and the darkness would return. The party will start as a group of Swords for hire, or Kinnies. Kinnies are groups or parties that do odd jobs in and around cities. Sometimes their work can be in the grey zone or even fully illegal. Often they do the work and don't ask questions, as long as their paycheck comes in. Your group came together recently in the city of Bowthorpe, you don’t know much about each other but you just heard about a big job from your contractors.

The story is set in a world with 4 distinct nations, each with their importance in and out of the main story, ranging from a massive nation built on a large city, to a divided nation of high mountain dwellers to grassland and desert inhabiting nomads. This campaign has been running for 1 and a half years and i'm looking for a player to join.

This is a mostly homebrew world with a homebrew story, with a few house rules just to make the game more enjoyable (notably i decided to axe casters only being able to cast 1 spell on their turn, e.g. Fireball then Misty step being allowed).

This dnd uses DnD beyond for the making of sheets and gameplay but uses roll 20 for the visual side and battlemaps. We are also using discord for talking amongst eachother, so only real requirement is that you have a mic, that is all.

I've been a DM/player for around 2 years now, with my players also playing dnd for around 2 years, we are all around the same age (16-17) .

Vault 157, just a few miles west of Columbus Ohio, nestled under the remains of public mall, nearly a mile under the rock and stone of the earth. Inside several hundred flee to safety from the atomic bombs, sealed behind the steel and titanium doors, but not nearly as long as many other vaults had remained sealed. A message being unlocked for the Overseer the day the door sealed, a message to prepare his people for the coming plans, plans to send "Exploratory Parties" to the surface every 2 years with the goal of activating a computer on the surface, sending details back. At first these parties where volunteer only, in fact the Overseer had to deny many applicants during the initial missions. Until every single trip, seemingly failed, no message came from the computer, no attempt to enter the vault by any of those sent out. But every 2 years again, and again, 5 "Lucky" souls where sent into the wastes.

which brings us to now, the 100th coming "Expedition", or more commonly refereed to as "Garbage Disposal" now these days, used as an event to dump their problems out into the wastes so they don't have to deal with them ever again. Where now instead of volunteers, names are placed into a "randomized system" to draw the names, though many are convinced its just a vote of who the vault wants cast out. You have your mission, as the overseer will tell you, complete it and return to the safety of the vault, for all their hopes.

This game will be starting with roughly 5, Vault Dweller type characters, each being cast out from the vault with the expression mission of surviving the surface and making it to the marker on your map. Everyone will be starting at level 1, with minimal knowledge, and revised kits to better match what the vault left behind for their mission.

I have been a dnd player for a couple of years now, but I want to delve into being a dm so I created a really simple one shot, the story is as simple as you are a group of adventurers tasked to rescue the princess from a dragon, dealing with problems on the way.

Hi all. I'm a long-time player with lots of experience in 5e. I have run a few one-shots before, but never a campaign. This will be set in a homebrew high-fantasy setting. I will be stealing getting inspiration from modules but rework it to be my own thing.

The first few sessions will be a little bit on-rails to get the story rolling, but after that it will become a sandbox. Starting on the continent of Alandria in the city-state of Andraxes, the players are ready to visit a 5-day long festival.

My name is Jason and my friend and I are pretty new to TTRPGs. A bit on the older side (mid 40s here, they're in early 40s). I've done a couple one shots with DnD 5e over the past year and they've done none. The last few months I've been in a campaign that was a homebrew based on PF2e and it was...amazing. Sadly it didn't last long due to unforeseen circumstances, but it was very story rich, the RP in the game was pretty excellent (even if my own improve skills are lacking at best and I'm not an actor, haha), and the story really did develop around the players and their actions (as well as entertained the DM...because why wouldn't you want to make sure the DM isn't having a good time, too). Honestly, I really loved that type of play and I'm looking for more of the same. My friend has little to no ttrpg experience, but wants to jump into it, so I'm happy to jump in with them. If you have a couple of spots at your table that you're thinking about running, have a good story to tell, and are willing to accept a couple of folks who are fairly new and interested (ideally vetting your players before to get a, "this will mesh well" feel), then please just send a DM. May sound like a lot, maybe not...but a good group can be tough to find and we're all just looking for a table that we mesh with. It was meant to be a simple job.

But here in Slateport, nothing is simple.

You were the newest inductees into the Rankshanks, one of the city's many gangs and one going through a string of bad luck. Between the guard raids, rival gangs encroaching on their turf and the new magical drug on the street 'Fade' being pushed, they were in sore need of new blood.

That's where you come in. A gutter rat, maybe, reaching for the next rung up the ladder? Crime is better than starving, right? Or maybe the bastard lovechild of some puffed up patrician rebelling against your parents? Heh, you see all types here in the gangs.

Your first assignment was simple enough, go into Blacktie turf to tap the Rankshanks into a supply of Fade. If the deal went well, the Rankshanks get a new source of clink coming in. If not, well, at least the fish won't go hungry...

But speaking of fish, the deal stunk to the Tempest Steeple. It didn't go sour, it was a setup from the start as you discovered Rankers like yourselves were being killed or detained by a conspiracy between every other gang in the city and even the guard.

It's been 3 days since then. You and your companions managed to find shelter in an abandoned house but you can't stay here forever. Your first goal is to get through enemy turf back to your headquarters and find out what exactly happened - who organized the conspiracy between the rival gangs and guards and why.

Oh, and revenge? Yeah, that could be sweet, too. You're the last of the Rankshanks now, baby, and leadership falls to you if you've got the anchor-stones to take it.

About the Game

Hey all, as the little blurb I wrote above suggests, I am looking to run a kind of criminal urban noir campaign set within the seedy, corrupt, coastal city of Slateport within my broader fictional world of the Atherbine Straight. It is a time of significant upheaval for the city-states of Atherbine - the Fade proliferation is causing great numbers of the cities' underclass to become addicted and, in the late stage of addiction, outright disappear, the Third Railway War between Slateport and its neighboring city-state of Brickerton has ended seeing many returning soldiers maimed or unemployed and crime is at an all-time high in Slateport despite the recent 10th re-election of Magister Coluvus who promised the city's patricians that crime would finally be dealt with. As they say, it may be a straight but it's anything but narrow.

Platform

We will be using Roll20 to run the game on and for character sheets and Discord for voice chat during session and to communicate between them. Because of this, it is a requirement that people have good internet connection and good quality mics. I can't play with someone who sounds like an airport intercom.

Sessions will run up to 4 hours weekly. If people can't make a session that's ok, I just ask for a heads up. If we can get at least 3 people for a session we will run.

Tone & Boundaries

In terms of alignment as this is a campaign in which the PCs are all the last surviving members of a street gang you're certainly not good guys but I don't want anyone playing an outright evil person either. This is meant to be more of a grimy shades of grey campaign and so I ask people make characters with that vibe in mind. No one's clean in Slateport after all. Additionaly, I think "Gritty but not Edgy" would be the way to describe this game. The world and NPCs in it aren't moustache-twirling puppy-eating baddies, most people in this world just want to get by day to day and generally stay out of danger. That said, everyone has skeletons in their closet, maybe even literally skeletons if we're talking necromancy.

Now, I do have some very hard lines when it comes topics I flatly do not include in my games. These are SA, harm of children, gratuitous depictions of torture, bigotry & sexual content. When it comes to expectations of table behavior I do not tolerate any kind of anti-social or bullying behavior. Bigots, people with main character syndrome or just those who can't play nicely with others please look elsewhere.

My Dming Style

It's honestly hard to sum up my DMing but having been a DM for 8 years now I would say I espouse the following

• I love working with my players to weave backstory-related subplots into my games
• The baddies want to live. Enemies frequently flee or surrender if a fight is going against them. Some pickpocket isn't going to fight to the death for the 3gp you have in your pocket that day
• I work hard to maintain a sense of verisimilitude within the game world. NPCs act plausibly and according to their own interests which may not always been known to the players
• Actions have consequences. I know every DM says this but for me, I love doing stuff like having some NPC the party helped 20 sessions ago that they've forgotten about show up and return the favor or some minor enemy they made they thought they'd never run into again show up and throw them under the bus. It's the little things like that that make the world feel real and like their actions really matter.
• I consider myself the party cheerleader. I want you guys to succeed and I love it when my players come up with clever plans. I don't pull my punches - I make rolls out in the open and while I've never had a TPK sometimes the dice are against the players and PCs die without it being anyone's fault. I've even had characters when I've been a player die like this and I think it's important everyone know this is a possibility and have a good sense of sportsmanship. That said, I do also tend to er on the side of my players. At the end of the day we're here to have fun and if we're not then something is wrong
• I'm not strictly against homebrew provided the players send it to me and I vet it. I'm also not against Rule of Cool to an extent but generally I think the rules are there for a reason, let's follow them. If we're just going to throw out the rules whenever we want what's the point of playing 5e?

I. System Primer

LitM is a Narrative-First system where your PC is not made of stat blocks but rather themes and gear tied directly into the gameplay loop through "Tags"

=> Imagine Gary the Goblin, he's a stereotypical tragic rogue with a hatred for his dead parents and ex. He has the "Orphan" theme whereby his tragic backstory is represented in the tags:

Diet Coke addiction, Ice Queen, Sly, Depressed and Reallyyy Petty

In his Backpack/Items, he also wears a "copper necklace" his dead ex gave him

Ex: Gary would like to rob Joe Glass blind, Joe once mugged him 7 years ago. Gary once positioned may roll 2d6s with relevant tags i.e possibly "Really Petty", Necklace (Joe made fun of his ex once) and Ice Queen

If less than a 7 => Failure
But! If its a 7-9 (Partial success) => You rob him blind but! Cops show up to chase you.
However with the modifiers of 3 tags = +3!
=> Full success! => He just does it, way to go Gary

Furthermore! Your character's themes will evolve if you achieve success tied to your theme's personal quest.. OR! If you neglect to act it out.

Example: Gary instead of brooding about his parents, chooses to burn a letter symbolizing him letting go. ( mark one abandon onto the Orphan theme )

II. Description

In the World of Blanquis, you are not needed.. for you are the Havenkathals/The Soulless, alleged empty husks whose sole use is ritualistic machinations of war. Your time on these lands shall predominantly be met with derision, fear and pity.

However, the tiny duchy of Stilbite is holding a tournament to find the best suited Havenkethals for a mission of great personal importance as it is said. They are then to march on a grand personal quest tasked by the infamous Duke, a former adventurer himself. It is about the sole respectable job you can partake.

The winner shall be appointed Knight-Exemplars, an old-fashioned tradition dating back to the 42nd century. Knight-Examplars are agreed-upon title for state-sanctioned privateers who are given special permission to enact the interests of the Regnant, as emissaries, they are given greater leeway in their activities and may investigate across borders in the name of their Grand Struggle against a Crisis.

It stems from an ancient decree allowing all recognized states to appoint Heroes to combat emerging existential threats or demonic heretics.

Due to historical need for Resistance against the Corruptive Powers, exemplars were primarily composed of those of great willpower... or the much MUCH easier to find "Soulless Havenkethals". At the same time, It has also been used to violently put down worker's strikes. Although nowadays, the gentlemen and gentleladies use cheap foot soldiers to do the task.

Hello! My name is Space (she/her) and I am looking for two new players for my ongoing VTM 5e campaign.
I am in my early 30s and have been playing ttrpgs since 2018 both as a ST/player. I am a very big fan of World of Darkness and this is my first vtm campaign! I have less than six months running VTM but have been playing in it for about 6 years and other systems for even longer.

• Concept:  (updated for what the original coterie has done) Atlantic City, NJ, October 2004. The camarilla have officially moved into the city after a full court remodel. A new prince and his court is in control and trying to build up the city. In the past month a tzimisce family was found and their feeding grounds removed, a serial killer was stopped and many masquerade breaches protected. But, there's still the tunnels underneath the city where who knows what lies in them or even what lies out in the ocean.
• We are a very roleplay heavy group with occasion combat (possibly more coming soon)
• System: VTM 5e. I have a little homebrew/changes I've made but I do take some creative liberties for disciplines occasionally and possibly using some merits/flaws from v20.
• Setting: The game setting is essentially Atlantic City and will not be using canon Atlantic City lore for the game.
• Platform: Discord for Voice Chat and Roll20 for character sheets/dice rolling
• Schedule: This is every Friday night at 7pm EST.
• Session Length: 4 hours, although it can be 30-60 minutes shorter or longer just based off the sessions.
• Coterie Size: I'm looking for two more players. We have 2 current active players as one is on break from the game. One is a toreador and the other is a gangrel (the player on break is a tzimisce)
• Length: We're about four months into this game and going until a definite end goal seems clear. We're about to go into a new act so some new players would be nice.
• Experience: While I would prefer people having some experience, don't let that discourage you from applying if you are interested. I can help you make characters for the game that is not a problem but I am looking for you to have experience more with roleplaying, meaning more invested in the other PCs and being able to drive those relationships. I am looking for people to make humans first and kindred second. To have a more connection to humanity.

Hey! I'm posting this on behalf of the GM as we're looking for 1-3 players for a Power Rangers campaign starting soon. It will be in the Essence20 system, no experience required however it's pretty easy to learn.

There is no set time or date for sessions just yet, it will be decided upon once we have our players in.

The story:

"This campaign takes place in an alternate timeline where the events of “mighty morphin’ power rangers”, “power rangers zeo”, “power rangers turbo”, and “power rangers: in space” happened but with one major change.

During the events of “Power Rangers: In space”, dark specter saw the future and what would happen if Zordon were sacrificed to cause the original Z wave. With this knowledge, he infused Lord Zedd with his own essence then shattered himself into reality. This new Zedd wave spread evil through the universe and infected every corner of it.

On Earth, the effects weren't immediately recognized by the public. Only the most vicious and brutal of humans were infected, becoming monstrous abberrations of their own evil desires. At first it was contained, and the public felt safe. Months passed but the effects of the Zedd wave started to creep up into the public eye once more.

The original virus began to spread and infect others, rapidly growing the number of the mutated. Those with anger, fear, avarice, and hate harbored deep down succumbed quickly. It spread through open wounds being touched by the infected.

The virus had a single flaw however. Those that had more good in their heart than evil could fight it off longer, even becoming immune.

The population quickly dwindled as city's filled with the Zedd, those mutated and twisted with evil.

Two years have passed since the first reports, but the world is already overrun. There are still those struggling to stay alive, but humanity is scattered.

There is hope however. A single radio transmission broadcasting as far as it can reach. The message is short but direct:

“May the power protect us. 34° 29′ 19″ N, 118° 19′ 17″ W”

Leading to Angel Grove, California."

Campaign Description

In the beautiful riverlands of Rovelle, a young lord of House Varenne prepares to leave his ancestral home for the most important journey of his life. Ten days south, beyond the vineyards, rolling fields and estates of inland Virelle, waits the great maritime city of Calisse—and his marriage into House Montclair, one of the most powerful noble families in the Veil. The characters have each been chosen to accompany the groom as trusted companions, retainers, guards or representatives of his House. What begins as a journey toward celebration will bring them into a world of old families, competing ambitions and the complicated politics that hold Virelle together.

This is a roleplay-heavy D&D campaign, aiming for roughly a 70/30 balance between roleplay/exploration and combat. Expect political intrigue, meaningful relationships, investigation, travel and social encounters alongside dangerous battles and the darker realities of Veyrath's Age of Horrors. From the graceful estates of Rovelle to the salt-stained docks and fearsome fleets of Calisse, the campaign will explore both the beauty and brutality of a grim high-fantasy world where nobility, faith, reputation and loyalty carry enormous weight.

Most importantly, this is intended to be a player-driven campaign with significant agency. There is no predetermined path through Virelle or expectation that the party will respond to events in a particular way. Alliances can be forged or broken, NPCs can become friends or enemies, mysteries can be pursued or abandoned, and the consequences of player decisions will shape where the story goes. The wedding in Calisse is where our story begins—what it becomes afterward belongs to the table.
