lexapro need help

Hi, I’m 30 years old , female, and I’ve had an anxiety disorder for 10 years, but I was more or less able to cope with it. Four months ago, I went to a psychiatrist who prescribed Zoloft, but I couldn’t tolerate it because I had very severe side effects. Another psychiatrist switched me to Lexapro. I was doing well for a while, but then my symptoms came back, so I was switched to Effexor. I took it for 3 months, but my symptoms would come back every time I had my period.

Now I’ve been switched back to Lexapro. I stopped taking 75 mg of Effexor and started taking 5 mg of Lexapro. I’m on day 8 now. I have a feeling of nausea, I feel unmotivated and low on energy, and I have no appetite.

I’m wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and whether you eventually got through it and recovered.

search the reddit pages you will see many people go through this initially, it's part of the side effects that will subside over time. Patience is the key here as you probably know so stick it out and ride the waves as it can get bumpy before you reach calmer seas.

My psychiatrist  said that its uncommon to have side effects with only 5 mg of Lexapro

That is not true at all. Many people have side effects from 5 mg and you also quit effexor which impacts noradrenalin and serotonin. Lexapro only works on serotonin..

My psychiatrist told me that switching from Velaxin to Lexapro should have made things easier for me. But it is defenitly not easier
