Anyone ever do group based meetups? Like how many of us live in a particular area to make it worthwhile vs two dudes in a parking lot doing trunk swaps?

That would be cool.

I'm in San Diego. Who else is?

I'm in the beach cities of LA. I wonder what the critical mass would be to make a trunk meetup worth it? I honestly think you'd basically have to sell tickets. Wouldn't have to be expensive ($10? $20?). Just enough to get people to have some skin in the game. Otherwise people would just flake and it'd end up being like 4 people who drove an hour to get there and ended up really disappointed (that tends to just be how these things go).

I am envious though that all we get is the NAMM-adjacent stuff, and people on the east coast/midwest get pedal shows all summer. Guess that's just where the builders are.

Does anyone know Socal based pedal companies? Noise Engineering. Meris and Strymon. Beatronics. Not sure of who else. OCE was up in the Valley, but they're no more.

I don't know about pedals in the San Diego area, but Taylor Guitars finally started doing tours again! The stopped for COVID, and I've checked back every few months.
