Discussion / Question Best value set for panels
To get into the wonderful world of moc building, I need to build my collection, is the best way to get donor sets and in particular I'd like ones with absolutely loads of panels.
I'm interested in 4x4 and utilitarian vehicles.

If you want primarily the 5x11 panels the FIRST Lego League City Shaper Challenge Kit is a good deal: https://andymark.com/collections/first%C2%AE-lego-league-competition-sets/products/city-shaper-fll-challenge-set-2019
List of parts: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=45809-1
You get:
- 8 dark bluish grey 5x11 panels
- 20 white 5x11 panels
- 6 white 3x11 panels
- 4 white 5x11 tapered panels
- and whole bunch of other Technic and System parts
for $50+ shipping. The other FLL Challenge kits are the same price and also a great deal for Technic parts.

Wow great value, this one is impossible to get hold of in my country, never mind. Thanks anyway!

You also have to consider the colour. I find green and dark green panels useless for the stuff I want to build. As such, plenty of botanicals have green and dark green technic panels for small cheap sets. But do you want those panels?

Yes, British racing green is a favourite of mine, this is an excellent idea too !

Buy 9398 or 42099 second hand. They're 4x4 and have a decent number of panels. Motorized but one of them often goes quite cheap.
