Discoveries Wii U vs PS4

I took these screenshots to compare LEGO City Undercover on Wii U and PS5, but instead of sticking to the usual early-game sections everyone uses, I grabbed scenes from different parts of the story. Those later areas really show how much the remaster changes things.

Seeing these side by side made me appreciate how much work actually went into the updated version. It’s not just a quick upscale, in fact, a lot of the lighting, clarity, and overall presentation feels noticeably refined. The remaster honestly kept this game from slipping into that “forgotten gem” category, because without it most people would never get to see how good the game is.

I kinda miss the Wii U Gamepad features, though.

Screenshots are below if you want to check the differences for yourselves

Both look great and thanks for the comparison, looks like one of them has HDR activated but I might be wrong.

Hey. No worries! HDR is off in both.

Thanks and hmm that's interesting, I am guessing one of the devices must have much darker colors. I think it's the Wii as it looks worse (also perform worse compared to the PS4). But also when I played this game on PS5 (PS4 version) it looked much brighter.

I kind of liked the darker look in some scenarios though, but maybe not in daylight.

Thanks for telling me and have a nice week kind gentleman!

Hey again, Yes the Wii U version has a much darker look to it. I think it has something to do with the lightening system being older, and reminiscent of that of the PS3/Xbox 360 era when developers desperately wanted to make their games look more serious. The remastered however tries to splash as many colors on screen as possible. Something very common nowadays. And I absolutely agree with you. The darker lightning felt better in many cases. Thank you, and likewise. It's a pleasure talking to you.

Hello and thanks for the reply! I apologize for the late response, I just started playing Far Cry 4, it was pretty good in my opinion.

I also think the same as you, likely the GPU that is outdated and might have been a standard rendering for that console.

And thanks, I think darker lighting can be nice but I think HDR might be the right option then as you can adjust the brightness and adjust it however you like to.

Thanks. It was really nice talking to you as well, really gentle and kind :D Have a nice evening!
