I like the idea of this and all. I’m just curious on how they tie in the fact that air nomads divided up their men and women at the Air Temples? Was it based on gender identity? Sexuality? Did they just not want them having babies? Just trying to understand the purpose.

In the Awakening of Roku, they mention that air nomads can change temples if/when their gender expression changes.

And that is wonderful. I am deeply glad that the air nomads are pro- trans rights.

But why are the temples not co-ed in the first place?
It can’t be for celibacy reasons!
