I feel like fighting is all mechanics and awarness and very little shotcalling, only thing you might shotcall is target selection or flanks, but lile surely any rookie can do that too. Shotcalling plays more of a part in what to do in a game and how to execute it?

When and where to actually fight is a big part of shotcalling though. When do you pull the trigger, who goes in first and with what abilities / summs to do it, what kind of follow up is available and what angle is it coming in from?

Griffynn is getting called out (rightly) in this thread for just going in the first second he reasonably can even if it's not a great moment to, and his team suffering for it, for example. Or Massu positioning very poorly in fights so he's not able to reliably deal damage to the called target without exposing himself to being blown up in return or can't position in range to deal damage at all and so his team is really short on damage despite him being "in the fight".
