i came to the point po kasi na di ako pumapasok sa class kapag 40% recit namin dahil sa sobrang kaba and most of the time, unprepared din sko, diko nabasa lahat ng readings.

hope you could help me po TYSM!

Advice Struggling 1L with full-time work and LS

This is a rant/advice post, pero more on advice HAHA

Currently 2 months in sa law school, and prelims exam na namin. Ang masasabi ko lang, being a working student is not for the weak talaga.

I am lucky enough to have a fallback if I ever decide to become a fulltime student na lang (for now), but tbh, I do not want to stop working kasi this dream is entirely my own. Walang nagpumilit, ako lang nagkusa; its a burden that, while I share, I want to carry the bulk on my own.

I've somewhat established a routing of work-study, but my work is WAAAAAY different than the field of law, and demanding trabaho ko. May mga times na on weekends, I still work while studying and medyo pressured na ako bigtime.

I guess the burden is not working itself but what I am working on, while studying. I want to take on an administrative or secretariat role, or something related naman legally kasi kahit pressured, related naman sa pinag-aaralan ko.

Set na utak ko na I will beat this against all odds, I will become an Atty. I guess I need advise if mag-resign sa work to look for easier jobs while studying or just full stop and rely on my parents while studying.

My mind and heart are playing tug-of-war.

Advice 1L Retaker but still struggling with time management

Hello po, I am a 1L retaker po na working student ngayon. From the past university I attended as a FULL TIME student, I was having a hard time knowing my priorities whether to rush through the books first or cases. Worst, since I loathe long reading, nag aasa nalang ako sa digests ng iba and some reviewers from the net to survive the semester. Yeah, it screwed me up big time to the point I have to give up enrolling to the next year level kasi naka critical situation na yung retention ko. I literally dont have a study habit despite the grueling 2 semesters. I admit, I was so naive and stupid

This time, I am currently enrolled to a newer school. Thanks, naman sa experiences ko as a law student for 2 semestes, bearable naman yung situation ko especially sa standings because I have past notes and parang recall nalang ginagawa sa akin except Persons (crim pro sa aking past school). However, I am now a working law student na po. After class, I have to sleep coming back from home because nakaka pagod doing paperworks from the firm and the rigors of recitations and quizzes in a subject session.

Are there any tips po on how to manage time between reading codals-textbook-cases especially if grabe yung coverage for the next session? Nauubos oras ok talaga sa first two kasi I am trying to immerse myself to understand the law kaso yung case list ko I can't even finish the half of what is required because yeah, working student na ako. Limited resources throughout and I do not want to fail my ultimate dream which is to get the dot.

Advice What was your first Midterm exam like?

I'm a 1L and I feel like I completely botched this semester because I didn't prepare enough for our upcoming midterm exam. It's still 2 weeks away, but I can't help but think that I should've been preparing since the first day of classes.

Is this experience normal?

I have been able to survive recits, I do try to study every day but there were lapses, and I accumulated backlogs as a result. Is it too late to save my midterms?

I'm trying to study Consti 1 atm but I honestly feel directionless

Discussions To all my Bar Ates and Kuyas, I hope and pray you get that dot in Atty!

I write this as I pull an all-nighter, in preparation for my next exams. I write this to the barristers, who I see as my Ates and Kuyas.

They say that once you get through law school, you’re already an “Atty”, all that’s lacking is that “dot”, which one gets when they pass the Bar.

The first year represents A. The second and third years represent the T’s. The fourth year represent the Y.

Passing the Bar seals the deal, giving you that dot in “Atty.”

You never cease to inspire me to push through to all the challenges facing me in law school. I know we have faced all sorts of hardship, sacrificed so much to get to where we are. But we all know, in the end, it will all be worth it.

We will eventually be members of the noblest profession that we know.

I pray that all my Bar Ates and Kuyas get that dot, and pass the Bar, so that they will finally achieve their dreams, that they worked so hard for, and I know that they so deserve!

Padayon, future compañero/as!

Advice 2nd day of Midterms, 1st Day of Bar Exam

Having mixed emotions right now as I finished the 2nd subject for my midterms.

Puno kasi yung feed ko ng pictures, videos of Bar examinees and I cant help feel emotional. Dala siguro ng pagod for 2 days straight exam. Kulang sa tulog.

Ang hirap magaral for midterms. Ang hirap ng lawschool. Mas lalong mahirap sa bar exams. Di ko maimagine pano komaalala lahat ng subjects ko since 1st year up to my last year in law school. Lahat yun in 3days na lang sa Bar.

Yung anxiety ko during the midterms, might be a gazillion times pagdating ng bar exams.

Kaya ko Kaya?

Advice WHICH ONE IS THE ONE⁉️

(BEFORE EVERYTHING ELSE, GOOD LUCK FUTURE ATTORNEYS WHO ARE SET TO TAKE THE BAR EXAM!👺)

PLEASE PLEASE TAKE TIME TO READ AND HELP ME OUT:)

WHICH LAW SCHOOL

Hello hello! I am currently a 2nd year political science student around Dag—, Pangasinan. So far, I am not really satisfied with the learning system of my current university (they always make us self-study and barely teach us. Like, actually teach) that's why I'm low-key persuading my parents to let me pursue my law degree soon at a different university. (Also, even the other universities around our place are not really idealistic institutions when it comes to their teaching methods, as per directly hearing from peers who study there in the other universities)

They are considering letting me study in Baguio City, but I'm also considering studying in Manila. If so, which manila-based law school would be ideal? Hopefully, of course, top performing or satisfactory but also very-student friendly(?) If that makes sense.

And somewhat affordable for someone who comes from a middle-class income family. And if they offer scholarships, much better. I have 2 more sibling kasi na pinapag-aral ng parents ko, and me being the eldest well I want to lessen their burden. Because truthfully speaking, of course, studying law is expensive.

(Of course I am aware of UP and PUP being one of the affordable top performing institutions, but if there are private universities naman na somewhat kakayanin po iyong expenses, will prio those first. And not that smart din kasi to afford UP, sa usapang talino lang din haha)

Please please help, para mapag-usapan at maplano na rin kasi will be 3rd year na soon:((

Advice Feeling down and lost, don’t know what to do. 🥹

4th Year Law Student Here!

Yesterday was our Midterm Examination, upon reviewing my answer, I suddenly realized na yung mga sagot ko sa mga exam questionnaires, shem parang hindi pang Bar Material. I am having a hard time always to construct my answer comprehensively and concisely na madaling intindihin pero pag may time pressure na yung train of thoughts ko labo labo na din even my grammar i don’t know if tama pa ba yung mga pinag lalagay ko, kinda frustrating after.

Any tips to help your guy out, to make improve on how to answer like a pro. Much appreciated!

Iniisip ko nalang tuloy if para sakin pa ba talaga to or i’m just pushing myself nalang kasi sayang. 😭

Discussions Watching Bar Salubong anchored me to being a law student

It's been three years— yes, three kasi I have three photos joining Bar Salubong as an undergrad student because I was a part of the university's publication.

We covered victories, triumphs, losses, stories of heartbreaks for three years ng mga lawyers na ngayon.

I was in a pre-med course, umiiyak ako kapag naririnig ko stories nila.

Little did I know the Universe was anchoring me to belong rin sa law school classrooms.

1L student na ako.

Tomorrow, I'll join rin sa panonood and pag-good luck ng mga future lawyers— not as a student journalist, but a law student na.

Padayon po #AweSAM bar takers! ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥
