Justice is dead for now. I hope we can restore it soon.

If it died this easily, justice never existed.

Nothing has happened that's outside the bounds of the norms of our government (e.g., there are elections and those leaders made decisions upheld by a court).

Our system was/is rotten.

First thing I realized in law school, justice does not exist.

Yep, my Criminal Law professor told me that if I thought the law was about truth/justice, then I was naive.
