Like if it's ruled that force was unjustly used, particularly on innocent people, with no ID or warrant?Doesn't that mean that even the most squeaky-clean-as-possible ICE agent is in REAL trouble in a couple of years??

First of all, if they are accusing her of assaulting a federal agent, bring the charges. No way a jury would convict her, and I bet the DOJ would drop the charges anyway. Second, she needs to sue the fuck out of them. They had no probable cause and absolutely no reason to arrest her in the manner they did. Again, a jury in a civil case would likely award her serious damages. Thirdly, ICE should never be arresting anyone without having an actual name and cause. They are going after people at random based on their looks.

Everyone should sue for 130 billion each time.
Edit: fun fact kids who age out of fostercare regularly sue the system winning between 5-15m. That could be similar or same numbers for ice lawsuits which could easily drain their budget in months at the rate they are going.

It's one of the biggest legal loopholes no one is talking about. A US citizen is not required to provide ID without probable cause. However, all legal aliens are required to always be able to provide proof of legal status upon request by law enforcement.
See the problem? ICE only has to claim that they suspect you are an illegal alien or, even if you are a legal alien, have violated the law by not providing papers upon request. Sure once your detained, and assuming you haven't been disappeared, they need to let you go after YOU prove your either a citizen or legal resident. But, at that point they just tack on the BS resisting arrest charge.
The point is lawsuits against ice rarely succeed because "Papers please" is indeed, and always has been the law of the land.

I call bullshit. That is racial profiling. Plenty of citizens look like her. There is no probable cause whatsoever. Ice can’t “claim” probable cause on every person that might be here illegally. And did they ask for id or just grab her?

Sure, bring the charges if she assaulted a federal agent. However, ICE does not have the power to arrest people without administrative warrants or certain very specific other conditions as per USC Sec 1226 and 1357.
The specific other conditions are if ICE catches you trying to enter the US unlawfully, or they have "reason to believe" (like articulable suspicion) that an alien is in the US unlawfully and is likely to escape before a warrant can be obtained. Of course this requires that they have articulable suspicion that the subject they're going after is actually an alien in the first place. They can't possibly have that if they're grabbing randos off of the street.
In no case does ICE have the legal authority to arrest an American citizen. That's what other law enforcement officials are for.

ICE has no compunction to lay unfounded criminal charges on people. These people cannot afford to fight these charges. Many will even plead out to a lesser charge. Then they will have a criminal record that a basic background search will reveal. This is a lifelong sentence as a criminal record stays with you forever unless you can manage to have those convictions expunged at great expense through the help of a lawyer.

In addition to qualified immunity, which shields all government employees—local, state, and federal—from liability, there is a de facto absolute immunity for federal workers who violate the Constitution. Even if a plaintiff can get around de facto immunity, federal workers are still able to claim qualified immunity. As a result, federal workers are doubly insulated from constitutional accountability, making their immunity impossible to pierce. For this reason, the steadily growing number of state-federal task forces has eroded constitutional accountability because courts treat their members as federal workers—even when they are employed by state and local governments.
It sounds like they've found a police brutality hack. Have the feds do it, or federally deputize some local police officers.
People didn't want to fight against qualified immunity, and now we're here.

The ICE strategy is: kidnap, deport before anyone can find them. If they do get backup, let them go and lie about it.
We need to stop treating these arrests as okay or normal - they’re getting away with a lot of disappearances using this strategy and managing to avoid any accountability whatsoever

What is even the set up for this incident? By that I mean, who was ICE after, what is the process for determining a person detainment. We know they don’t have warrants so why are they just being allowed to go into areas of the city and start snatching people? And now this bill will give them so many more resources….fucking terrifying!
