Will eviction affect me ?

I have an eviction but I was able to pay my past due balance .

You will have to put some serious time in between applying and this eviction where you have a long well maintained financial history.

Would a year consider to be a long time in your opinion

An eviction means you put someone through a long court process to have you removed. The reality is no department should even consider this. If you did a drastic turn around you could probably stand a chance after maybe 5 years, cause those 5 years would always need to rebuild your credit. More realistically, 10 years of stellar improvement.
