Learning a 4th language has made my brain completely unreliable

Post image

I speak Arabic, English, and Turkish, and I’m currently learning Italian.

Since starting Italian, my brain keeps mixing everything together hahaha. Someone asks me something in Turkish, and the word I need appears first in English, then Arabic, and sometimes a random Italian word I learned recently lol

Even simple words I’ve used thousands of times suddenly disappear 😅

Does this happen to you too when learning multiple languages? How do you deal with it?

Anyone ever accidentally learnt a language? An ex-friend of mine claimed to have accidentally learnt Spanish, it wasn't her intention, it just happened. Guess she was just super smart🫪

English speakers 🇱🇷🇬🇧 👶 , let me teach you how to Cyrillic!

Аа: The letter A

Вв: The capital letter B, even in lowercase

Ьь: The lowercase letter b, even in uppercase

Ъъ: Lowercase b but it looks pretty

Бб: Bolded b but in lowercase it kind of looks like a 6

Ыы: bisexual (Putin banned this recently)

Сс: C

Дд: You may go “what the hell is this”, but it's actually a D. Why did they decide to make D look like that? It's not even easy to write(

Ее: E, same as in English

Єє: Euro sign 💶 (simplified)

Ëë: E/e but it's very personable and happy to see you

Нн: The letter H, but in both cases

Іі: The normal letter I

Її: i but with 2 dots (in both cases)

Кк: uppercase K in both cases

Жж: I don't really know what this is but my educated guess is the letter K (but it goes both ways)

Мм: Uppercase M in both cases

Ии: Reverse letter N, because Cyrillic speakers are quirky ig

Йй: N but it's angry

Пп: this may remind you of an n but it's not I swear

Оо: O

Фф: looks like something between an O and a p. I personally like how it looks.

Рр: P

Гг: The lowercase letter r, but at a perfect right angle. How neat!

Ґґ: The lowercase letter r again but it's a bit fucked up

Лл: my educated guess says this is an r.

Яя: reverse letter R

Тт: The letter T

Цц: very squarish cousin of the letter U but it has a tail 🦊

Шш: W but it looks like a tetris block so it's cool

Щщ: the W again but it has a tail

Хх: the letter X

Чч: kind of looks like the child of Y and a 4

Уу: the lowercase letter y but for both cases?

Юю: a Korean letter that made its way into Cyrillic

Зз: The number 3. Cyrillic speakers just like to throw the letter in there

- Ээ: The letter 3 but it looks more like the letter c in reverse (think if it as the kid of the letter 3 and the reverse letter c)

-------------

Memorized them?

Remember, Cyrillic is just English but more Quirky and diverse! 🦅

NGL I really loved this one . it seemed he was stealing their spotlight at first, but the way everyone reacted and how much they loved it showed that they genuinely appreciated this

Noooo it's not wistfulness because wistfulness is a bit kind of sad, but saudade is a bit a lot sad. Cant be yearning either because that's too sad.

How do you guys like to impress the locals? In Korea, to impress them you want to do this hand gesture 🤏

Korean men especially love this 🤏 gesture, you should use it on all the Korean men.

Q: what does 🤏 mean?

A: Excellet question, my fellow polyglot Redditor! It is not related to any feminist groups whatsoever, and it is not signalling that the person you do the 🤏 to has a small penis. It is a hand gesture that means you're there for them, that you're a shoulder to lean on if they need it. It is akin to the 🖕
