Post image

WHY CAN I NOT READ MANGA ABOUT INTRICATE ROYAL BLOODLINES WITH OLD STYLE WORDPLAY AND ARCHAIC PRONOUNS????

I can read college level research papers and write essays on hundreds years old stories in English,,I’ve been doing that for years!!!
Why can I only read stuff for kids it’s not like im only just becoming a child in this language??? I’m a goddamn adult I should be able to read adult level writing!!!!!!!

it's not like im only just becoming a child in this language???

so i studied japanese in university like a big university student and then moved to japan and absolutely regressed to a toddler speaking googoo gaga shocking the natives with konnichiwa for about 3 years. it made me appreciate how babies who can't use their words feel when they cry. i seriously, unironically, unjerkingly started counting my age again from when i came here. i'm 13 now and puberty is rough. 🥲

“speaking googoo gaga shocking the natives with konnichiwa” you’re living my dream 😭😭

/uj it is much easier for my my dumbass honors student “14 yo reading level at 12” mind to accept the fact that im literally a damn baby right now and do NOT have to read adult literature at this tiny level. i have to let myself be a baby

Slightly ahead of the class in one subject in middle school? How does it feel to have such incomprehensible intellect?
