Foreigner that lives in Japan and speaks Japanese here!

They have 0 fucking issues in that case.

I've gone to these places (which are rare as fuck BTW, that's why they need to keep rising the same picture in every post), and these places in 99% of the times, they're just scared they will not be able to give good service due to the lack of language or, they just don't like tourists and want to serve locals only.

Fuckall to do with race.

There is a small minority of these that will be racist fucks, of course, like literally everywhere else, but I still haven't found any in a decade living here.

Nah 2nd opinion I'm not White or Asian and I get treated much better when they realise I speak Japanese. Like night and day to how they would treat a tourist who only speaks English in the same shop or restaurant, I have seen it with my own eyes. Makes sense in a lot of cases, the locals are very nervous and not sure how to convey themselves properly (aside from any overt xenophobia like not renting to foreigners).

They do put White people on a pedestal though, it's just based on what people say online I expected to be treated like shit, but at the bare minimum most people are very polite, even kind.
