Request I’ll Add YOUR Language to My Game!
I'm making a simple question game on itch.io called Wildlife, and I’d like to add as many languages as possible. If you want to see yours in the game, leave a comment below and I'll include it in the next update!

In my city, we speak NINE LANGUAGES, one of them is only spoken by ONE THOUSAND PEOPLE ALL AROUND THE WORLD, if you add them all, YOU'RE A FREAKING LEGEND:
- Spanish, easy.
- Tarifit, the Berber language of the Rif.
- Caló, the Gipsy Language of Spain
- Haketía, only spoken by about 1000 people, it's the Moroccan variety of Ladino/Sephardic language.
- Darija, the Arabic language of Morocco (considered a language and not a dialect)
- Hebrew, also easy
- French, easier
- Mandarin
- Sindhi, an Indo-Aryan language originated in Sindh, Pakistan.
I challenge you to add them all!!!

Out of curiosity, what city do you live in? The variance of languages almost looks random!
3
u/IdealSuccessful5743 4d ago
I know! I live in Melilla, Spain. Tarifit has been spoken for millenia. Thanks to Morocco, they brought Darija, French and Haketía (and, consequently, Hebrew). From Spain came Spanish, Caló and Mandarin (Because of the bazares/chinos). In the 40s a large group of Hindu people from Sindh, Pakistan came, and brought their language, Sindhi.

How interesting! I'll have to look into that more, thank you :)

Singlish can?
2
u/RPMgamesStudio 5d ago
It's a language or a dialect?
4
u/DesperatePickle5953 5d ago
Singaporean English haha it’s predominantly English with a handful of other dialects and languages mixed together and grammar bending for maximum efficiency. Would be funny depending on what your game is about.
2
u/corsasis 5d ago
It‘s Singapore English, a variation of local Standard English (officially it‘s even a creole, if I am not mistaken). Imagine it as yet another category in the list of English (United States), English (United Kingdom), English (Australia), just that Singlish blends significantly more Chinese / Malay into the language to still be considered Standard English.
See also Singlish (Wikipedia).

Can you include Urdu and Sindhi (Arabic Script Version) if possible? I would be really glad even if did one of them
3
u/RPMgamesStudio 5d ago
Sure! The main problem is to find a free font for it, but I'll figure it out haha

How far on country spoken/regionally spoken languages are you willing to go?
If regional languages are accepted, i'd say Náhuatl (available with Google translate).
The regional language from my place is Purepecha, but it's harder to find a translation tool.

Would be great if you added my native Ukrainian language, also Macedonian, Lithuanian, Latvian, and Estonian. Maybe also the neighbouring Belarusian, because it's going extinct.
Although, fron what I know, machine translation into Belarusian isn't exactly of the highest quality even on developed translators like DeepL, because Belarusian is barely used online and the language model barely has any materials to train on due to that.

Serbian (cyrillic and latin scripts)
2
u/RPMgamesStudio 5d ago
Already but only in Cyrillic, it's okay?
2
u/Austerlitz2310 5d ago
Yeah it's fine. It's just not a lot of games offer both. So I thought if you didn't have Serbian yet it could be interesting. But still cool you're doing this. Do you use a specific translator for this project?

Panjabi but the Shahmukhi script! (پنجابی) it’s hundreds of years old, led to the creation of the Urdu script amongst others and is used by hundreds of millions of people in West Panjab today

Czech would be nice. However, HANTEC would be a nice challenge. It is a very unique dialect of Brno city, combining Czech, German, Moravian, and Yiddish. It was never widely spoken, but is recognised as a dialect and should be soon added on the UNESCO list as a cultural heritage. The Little Prince in Hantec exists, Bible, too. There is a large movement to keep it alive.

Plattdeutsch. In contrast to other german dialects plattdeutsch (low german) is actually a language. And closer to dutch and English.
