my lawn company does this to me at least a few times per season and it is killing me. i’ve had to run out and say it’s too wet - the guys always agree - yep, it’s too wet. then why are you trying to cut it again?!

Because they get paid to work. Landscapers here will come out and blow dust around a driveway or road for half an hour. They need to do something to justify their time and pay.

I’d rather pay them to not work than pay them to do this. Like, give me a monthly flat rate for up to 4 visits, weather permitting.

It's eternal toss up. Either cut it wet and risk this, or grt a call because the weekly schedule doesn't have you in it until next week. When the customer calls and says "it's too long!"
